  • Publication number: 20100216142
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of screening a subject for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), comprising detecting an increase in an amount of one or more markers associated with SLE in a biological sample from the subject, wherein the one or more markers is selected from the group consisting of miR-16-1, miR-16-2, miR-223, let7a-1, let7a-2, let7a-3, let 7c, let7g, and any combination thereof, whereby detection of the increase in the amount of the one or more markers identifies the subject as having SLE. The invention further provides methods of screening a subject for SLE comprising detecting a decrease in miR-95 in a biological sample from the subject, whereby detection of the decrease in the amount of miR-95 identifies the subject as having SLE.
