The present inventors, in developing a sunscreen that gives protection against both UV radiation and visible radiation, found that when a certain moiety generally occurring in nature i.e. hydroxyanthraquinone having uv-visible absorption activity are attached to crosslinked silicone polymers they provide not only the desired photoprotection but also excellent spreadability on skin.
