  • Patent number: 9867069
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device (14) of controlling bit rate of a terminal (11, 12, 13) included in a group of terminals. To this end, a method is provided comprising the steps of acquiring a predetermined QoS parameter for the terminal, which parameter stipulates target QoS to be given to the terminal relative to other terminals in the group, and acquiring either one or both of (a) at least one measure of a channel condition of the terminal and (b) at least one capacity measure of the terminal. Further, the method comprises the step of controlling the bit rate of the terminal on the basis of a reference weighting factor created by a combination of the acquired predetermined QoS parameter, the acquired at least one measure of a channel condition of the terminal and/or the acquired at least one capacity measure of the terminal.

  • Patent number: 9294220
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement in a first communication node for adjusting a channel quality report transmitted between the first communication node and a second communication node. The first communication node and the second communication node are comprised in a wireless communication network, and are adapted to communicate with each other via a radio link. In a first step, a channel quality report is received from the second communication node. The channel quality report is established by the second communication node. Then at least one channel characteristic parameter is obtained. The next step is to determine a channel quality offset based on the obtained channel characteristic parameter. Based on the channel quality offset, the channel quality report is adjusted.

  • Patent number: 8687576
Abstract: A scheduler for ranking-based scheduling of multiple users on a shared communication channel of a serving base station in a wireless communication system comprises a determiner (42), a priority ranker (44), a user selector (46) and a resource allocator (48). The determiner (42) is configured to determine, for each user of a given traffic class, measured bandwidth share ratios with respect to each of a number of other traffic classes. The priority ranker (44) is configured to determine, for each user, a priority rank based on i) achievable bit rate of the user according to reported channel quality, and ii) a quality of service component representing compliance of the measured bandwidth share ratios to corresponding target bandwidth share ratios.

  • Publication number: 20120099471
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement in a first communication node (115) for adjusting a channel quality report transmitted between the first communication node (115) and a second communication node (105). The first communication node (115) and the second communication node (105) are comprised in a wireless communication network (100), and are adapted to communicate with each other via a radio link (110). In a first step, a channel quality report is received (600) from the second communication node (105). The channel quality report is established by the second communication node (105). Then at least one channel characteristic parameter is obtained (601). The next step is to determine a channel quality offset based on the obtained channel characteristic parameter. Based on the channel quality offset, the channel quality report is adjusted (605).

  • Patent number: 8090323
Abstract: A device associated with a network receives feedback information associated with a data channel, and determines whether a condition in the data channel is changing based on the feedback information associated with the data channel. The device also calculates an implicit channel quality estimate based on the feedback information. The device further transmits a trigger requesting a channel quality report when the condition in the data channel is changing, and receives the requested channel quality report.
