  • Patent number: 4407698
Abstract: An apparatus for regulating the fiber concentration of a fiber suspension during transport of the fiber suspension through a conduit which comprises a variable speed-controlled electric motor driving a pump for impelling the fiber suspension through the conduit to an outlet of the latter. A system is provided for obtaining a measure of the power supplied by the motor to the pump and for dividing this measure by a signal proportional to the flow rate of the fiber suspension in the conduit. The resulting signal, which is proportional to the fiber concentration in the fiber suspension, is employed to regulate the speed of the pump motor.

  • Patent number: 4378978
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of, and system for, degassing a mixture of a liquid first material, e.g. white water, and at least one second material, e.g. paper-making stock, the mixture being regeneratively pumped through cleaning means, e.g. a vortex cleaner, to an aeration tank. The regenerative pumping may be controlled to control the sub-atmospheric pressure applied to, and the liquid level in, the aeration tank.

  • Patent number: 4250693
Abstract: Goods to be packed are continuously collected in units of goods. Parallelly therewith plain package blanks are preformed to package containers, which are completely open at least at one vertical side. The units of goods and the open package containers are moved in a continuous feeding movement side by side with the same speed, and with the open container side facing the unit of goods. During the feeding movement a unit of goods is pushed sideways into a package container. The open container side or sides are closed and sealed, and the package is moved away from the packaging station. The front side and the rear side of the preformed package container as considered in the feeding direction are widened in relation to each other before the units of goods are pushed into the containers to facilitate the pushing in of the units of goods into the package containers.
