    Abstract: A method of mechanically applying cover-slips onto slides provided with specimens for microscopic examination, wherein the slides are fed to a coating station at which a solvent film is applied without mechanical contact between the coating member and the specimens and then fed to an application station wherein the cover-slips, which have an adhesive layer on the slides thereof arranged to bear against the solvent layer, are applied onto the solvent layer.
