  • Patent number: 10982156
Abstract: The object of the invention is a method for producing naphthenic process oils that have a high content of naphthenic carbon atoms of 20-60 wt % and a low content of polycyclic aromatics of less than 3 wt %, determined in accordance with IP 346, by the hydrogenation of a process oil educt that has a high content of polycyclic aromatics. The method in accordance with the invention enables secondary extracts, such as are formed in the production of label-free process oils, even in a mixture with primary extracts, to be utilized in an economically meaningful way. The resulting process oils are likewise label-free, so that the use of PCA-containing process oils can be reduced and less of these substances will get into the environment. Through this the environment and in particular health are less stressed. In addition, the starting substances in this way can lead to a different use and no longer have to be added to heating oil. By avoiding heating oil, CO2 emissions are also reduced.

By avoiding heating oil, CO2 emissions are also reduced. Also, through the direct hydrogenation of DAE, high value naphthenic process oils are obtained. The process oils that are obtained contain surprisingly high amounts of naphthenic hydrocarbon compounds.

  • Patent number: 8623329
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of inhibiting cancer growth in the lungs of a mammal through the inhalation administration of aerosol particles of an anti-cancer drug formulation. Further, the present invention provides a formulation for aerosol delivery that comprises a combination of paclitaxel, ?-tocopheryl succinate; sorbitan trioleate, ethanol, and carbon dioxide. Prior studies have indicated that aerosol administration of cancer drugs holds great potential as a treatment modality, both for lung cancer and for lung metastases of other cancers. Practice of the invention has been demonstrated using a mouse model of lung cancer, in which intrapulmonary deposition of paclitaxel by aerosol inhalation reduced lung tumor size and increased body weight in tumor-bearing mice.

  • Patent number: 7028698
Abstract: Apparatus for pressure processing components is disclosed which includes an improved closure system that minimizes dust-generating parts and allows easy access to the chamber. Ports are provided for introducing and releasing pressurized gases and fluids to and from the processing space. The heating system of the apparatus heats both the cover and the stage inside the pressurized chamber such that cycle time to equilibrate heated, pressurized fluids such as supercritical carbon dioxide inside the chamber are decreased. The apparatus includes a mechanism that raises the stage inside the chamber, pressing it against the fixed cover and sealing the inside of the pressure vessel. In one embodiment a screw-type jack is used to move the component-loaded stage fitted with a deformable o-ring seal a short travel distance to seat against the lid and seal the pressure chamber. In a related embodiment a computer and an electronic stepper motor are used to drive the pressing means in an automated fashion.

  • Patent number: 6872257
Abstract: The invention pertains to a pressure chamber scraper for application of a liquid medium onto a rotating drum, said pressure chamber scraper having an axially extending scraper head, that together with an axially extending dosing scraper touching the mantle surface of the drum and with a sealing scraper forms a chamber in the circumferential direction, in said chamber there is an axially extending displacement element to form a pressure compartment and an outlet compartment and leaving an application gap to the mantle surface of the drum, and the liquid medium for wetting of the mantle surface flows through said gap, wherein the medium is supplied through an inlet opening into the pressure compartment. According to the invention, it is proposed that the displacement element and scraper head have mutually facing contact surfaces which bound at least one gap between them which opens into the pressure compartment and connects it to the inlet opening, so that the medium can move into the pressure compartment.

  • Patent number: 6595041
Abstract: A method to maintain magnetic levitation that is stabilized by means of Hall effect sensors is disclosed. The method and device comprising a Hall effect sensor or sensors used to control an electromagnet to maintain the position between two magnets or objects. The present invention has been used to suspend a magnet in a high pressure tube that is magnetically coupled to a magnet outside the tube connected to an analytical balance that can accurately measure the force on the magnet inside the tube. This force measurement can be used to determine fluid density, flow, viscosity, and solubility. This magnetic levitation method also has application for other devices such as motors, generators, trains, turbines, wind tunnels, and entertainment devices.
