  • Patent number: 10260554
Abstract: An actuator assembly includes an actuator with a cylinder-shaped shaft rotatable around an axially extending center axis (A), and the shaft includes an envelope surface. The assembly further provides a fixed, tubular bearing surrounding a section of the shaft, the bearing having an inner surface facing the envelope surface of the shaft so that an interface between the shaft and the bearing is created. The interface provides at least one circumferential groove and at least one complimentary circumferential ridge. The groove is arranged in the one of the envelope surface of the shaft and the inner surface of the bearing and the complimentary ridge is arranged in the other of the envelope surface of the shaft and the inner surface of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 9541129
Abstract: An annular guide ring for controlling the position of at least one of rolling elements and a bearing cage in relation to an inner ring of a rolling bearing. The guide ring comprises a base portion, a first side portion extending in a radial direction from a first axial end portion of the base portion, and a second side portion extending in a radial direction from a second axial end portion of the base portion, wherein the first side portion and the second side portion are integrally formed with the base portion of a one-piece sheet material. Also described is a method for manufacturing the guide ring for the rolling bearing.

  • Publication number: 20160169282
Abstract: A roller bearing according to an embodiment comprises a first roller bearing ring comprising at least one raceway, a second roller bearing ring comprising at least one raceway, a plurality of rolling elements arranged between the raceways of the first roller bearing ring and the second roller bearing ring and at least one retaining flange detachably mounted onto the first roller bearing ring. Employing an embodiment may simplify at least one of manufacturing and assembling the roller bearing.

  • Patent number: 6170991
Abstract: A propeller thrust bearing assembly includes a spherical rolling bearing provided on a shaft and abutting against a shoulder, and a spherical thrust bearing, incorporating a shaft washer fitted on the shaft, a housing washer provided in a housing surrounding the shaft and a set of rolling bodies provided between the shaft washer and the housing washer. A spacing sleeve is provided between the spherical rolling bearing and the spherical thrust bearing, and a lid member is attached to the housing. The lid member is adapted to urge the housing washer against the set of rolling bodies and via the rolling bodies against the shaft washer. The axial distance between the two bearings is such that their force lines meet at a point situated on the center axis of the shaft. The spherical rolling bearing has a taper bore and is mounted on a withdrawal sleeve, and the spacing sleeve has internal threads and is screwed onto the withdrawal sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5857783
Abstract: A method for joining a ring member, e.g. a bearing inner race ring, to a shaft so that the ring member is primarily prevented from axial motion relative to the shaft involves arranging the ring member over the shaft so that the shaft extends through a bore in the ring member, and applying between the ring member and the shaft a clamping wedge force in which a tapering locking surface acts against a substantially corresponding tapering surface. The device for joining the ring member to the shaft includes a locking member mounted on the ring member and provided with a tapering contact surface that faces towards the shaft. An arrangement is provided for pressing the locking element against a tapering counter surface that is fixed in position relative to the shaft to prevent axial movement of the ring member on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5743016
Abstract: A method for mounting on a shaft extending through a housing a preloaded rolling bearing assembly incorporating first and second rolling bearings capable of supporting axial load, involves mounting the outer race rings of both bearings in axially fixed positions in the housing, mounting the inner race rings with a shrink fit on the shaft and with rolling bodies disposed between the inner and outer race rings, and introducing in the interface between the inner envelope surface of the inner race ring of the second bearing and the shaft a pressure medium to create a thin medium film in the interface for allowing the inner race ring of the second bearing to be axially displaced on the shaft. An axial force is then applied to the inner race ring of the second bearing and the axial force thus applied is measured. The pressure medium is then drained from the interface between the inner race ring and the shaft when a predetermined axial force is reached, whereupon the axial force is relieved.
