Abstract: A transfer belt for eliminating an open draw between a press in a papermachine and a transfer point has a supporting base with a particle-filled polymer coating. The coating, which constitutes the paper side of the transfer belt, carries the paper sheet from a press nip in a closed draw to a transfer point without sheet flutter or drop-off. At the transfer point, the paper sheet is readily released to another sheet-conveying papermachine-clothing product. The transfer belt may carry the sheet through more than one press nip. The transfer belt surface has a pressure-responsive recoverable degree of roughness, which is made relatively smooth by compression in the press nip, allowing the thin, almost continuous water film to form between the transfer belt and the paper sheet. When leaving the press nip, the paper sheet is held to the transfer belt by the thin, almost continuous water film.

Abstract: A dewatering wet press fabric to be used on papermaking machines includes at least one top layer made from staple fibers and the like and facing the paper web to be dewatered, and a second layer. The second layer constitutes a barrier layer of such a nature that during the compression phase in the press nip in the press section of the papermaking machine the water is forced through the second layer, but is prevented from flowing back to the top layer and the paper web during the expansion phase after the press nip.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a sheet assembly with a permeability at least to gaseous media, as well as a method for manufacturing same.The object of the present invention is to produce a sheet assembly which may be used as a forming fabric, press fabric and/or drying fabric, including as a press felt or drying felt.This object is achieved in that a sheet assembly according to the present invention is characterized by a foil (1) of a substantially liquid impermeable material which is coordinated with a reinforcement structure (3) which is disposed wholly or partially within the foil (1) and is permeable to gas and possibly also to liquid, at least the foil (1) displaying substantially vertical through-channels (2).
