  • Patent number: 7877910
Abstract: A display system is described having a plurality of display units, wherein each of the display units is movable between at least a first position and a second position, and wherein each display unit is provided with at least a first light emitting element. Each display unit may be configured to be rotatable about an axis thereof, such that the first position is defined as a first angular position of rotation about the axis, and the second position is defined as a second angular position of rotation about the axis.

  • Patent number: 7777699
Abstract: A light emitting apparatus and a method of displaying an image therewith is disclosed. The light emitting apparatus includes a spine and a rib. The rib is attached to the spine and includes a plurality of alternating nodes and connection links. At least one of the connection links is thinner in cross-section than at least one of the nodes. The light emitting apparatus then further includes a connector to attach multiple light emitting apparatuses together. The light emitting apparatus further includes a plurality of pixels, in which the pixels are configured to receive a data signal and power.

  • Publication number: 20080136348
Abstract: A light-emitting display driver architecture and a method of supplying power and data thereto are disclosed. The driver architecture includes a wire interface with a host controller electrically connected thereto. Further, first and second pixel nodes are connected to the wire interface in parallel. The first and second pixel nodes each include a communication unit, a control unit, a driver, and a light-emitting element. A data signal and a power signal is then transmitted from the host controller through the wire interface, in which data is extracted from the data signal for the first pixel node based upon a fixed unique ID corresponding to the first pixel node.

  • Publication number: 20070182666
Abstract: A display unit, a display system, and a method of manufacturing thereof are disclosed. The display unit includes a first substrate and a second substrate attached to the first substrate to form a cavity between the substrates. A pixel is then disposed within the cavity and is configured to receive an electrical signal and power. The display system includes a plurality of display units having a first substrate with edges and a plurality of pixels disposed upon the first substrate. At least one edge of at least one of the display units is configured to removably attach to another edge of an adjacent display unit. The method includes providing a first and second substrate, and a pixel, attaching the first and second substrates together to form a cavity therebetween, and disposing a pixel within the cavity. The pixel is configured to receive an electrical signal and power.

  • Publication number: 20070176854
Abstract: A display panel including a plurality of pixels disposed on a surface of the display panel is disclosed. The plurality of pixels are configured to receive an electrical signal and power and are disposed in an irregular arrangement. Furthermore, a method for displaying an image is disclosed. The method includes providing a display panel having a plurality of pixels disposed on a surface of the display panel, wherein the plurality of pixels are configured to receive an electrical signal and power, and wherein the plurality of pixels are disposed in an irregular arrangement. The method further includes sending a data signal to the display panel, wherein the plurality of pixels are further configured to display the image based on the data signal.
