Publication number: 20240036962Abstract: The present subject matter discloses techniques to automatically cluster events generated by a plurality of distinct ecosystems deployed in a connected environment in relation to a product. In operation, the clustered events may be correlated, and one or more of the correlated events that trigger a response may be identified as an actionable item. Based on a correlation between the actionable items, a hierarchical product parameter responsible for the actionable item may be identified. The hierarchical product parameter is an operational factor in a hierarchy of operational factors associated with the product, where the hierarchy of operational factors span over the plurality of distinct ecosystems operating in relation to the product. Subsequently, one or more entities across the distinct ecosystems may be notified of the actionable item, to initiate a required action. Further, techniques to detect operational factors associated with the product deployed in the distinct ecosystems are disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2023Publication date: February 1, 2024Applicant: DevRev, Inc.Inventors: Dominik Damjakob, Shlomi Vaknin, Ashwini Vasanth, Steven Poitras, Mohan Maturi, Nimar Arora, Amit Gosavi, Srividya Tata

Patent number: 8589346Abstract: Techniques for replicating data in database systems are described. In an example embodiment, a set of changes is received at a destination database, where the set of changes has been applied at a source database and is being replicated from the source database to the destination database. The set of changes is analyzed and it is determined that the set of changes includes two or more of: a subset of row-level changes, a subset of statement-level changes, and a subset of procedure-level changes. A set of dependencies is determined at least between the changes that are included in the subsets of changes. The changes, in the subsets of changes, are assigned to two or more processing elements. The set of changes is applied to the destination database by executing the two or more processing elements in parallel to each other and based on the set of dependencies.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2011Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Edwina Lu, James Stamos, Nimar Arora, Lik Wong, Haobo Xu, Thuvan Hoang, Byron Wang, Lakshminaray Chidambaran

Patent number: 7899785Abstract: Splitting and merging database object information sharing streams. Streams are also referred to herein as “propagations”. Splitting and merging information sharing streams can be used to improve performance in a information sharing environment when a failed or slow DBS impacts the performance. In one embodiment, an auto split process monitors the progress of applying changes at each node and detects the presence of a failed or a slow node. Once the failed or slow node is identified, the auto split process splits the propagation such that the offending node is sent through a separate propagation. Furthermore, an auto merge process can be started to monitor the newly created separate propagation. At a later point, the new propagation can be merged back into the original stream. For example, if the offending node catches up with other nodes, the auto merge process merges the newly created propagation back to the original propagation.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2007Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Jun Yuan, Alan Downing, Lik Wong, Nimar Arora, Patricia H. Patent number: 7801856Abstract: Instances of complex types are logically replicated. In general, the logical replication of complex types involves converting a complex type instance from its storage format into a logical representation written in a markup language, like XML. The logical representation is then propagated to a destination (or destinations), which converts the logical representation to a storage format used at the destination for that complex type.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2006Date of Patent: September 21, 2010Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: James W. Patent number: 7702741Abstract: Configuring an n-way multi-master information sharing topology. Adding a new node (e.g., database server) to the information sharing topology can be implemented as follows. Initially, the new node is added as a slave of a particular co-master in the information sharing topology. The objects to replicate are instantiated on the new node by propagating data from the particular co-master to the new node. Furthermore, a capture process is created on the particular co-master to send changes to the objects to the slave. Meanwhile, the co-masters continue to propagate changes to each other. To promote the slave to a master, changes to objects stored at the slave are propagated to each of the co-masters. Furthermore, changes at each of the masters are propagated to the promoted node.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2007Date of Patent: April 20, 2010Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Jun Yuan, Alan Downing, Lik Wong, Nimar Arora, Patricia H. Patent number: 7668878Abstract: A method and apparatus for replicating data between heterogeneous databases is provided. Data is replicated between two heterogeneous databases with the use of a volatile storage queue, enabling the rapid replication of data across databases provided by different vendors or operating on different platforms. According to one embodiment, an in-memory queue is used to queue change operations to be performed on a target data repository. The change operations may be operations that were applied to a source data repository. An apply process retrieves the change operations from in-memory queue and commits the change operations to persistent storage. When the change operations have been committed, the apply process notifies the source platform that the particular change operation has been stored.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2006Date of Patent: February 23, 2010Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Nimar Arora, Lik Wong, Neeraj Shadhan, Anand Lakshminath, Edwina Lu, Byron Wang, Thuvan Hoang

Publication number: 20070118600Abstract: Methods and systems for estimating the hypothetical performance of a messaging application are disclosed. A number of pool sizes may be identified, each pool size being a potential size for the memory allocated to the messaging application. An online simulation is running during the execution of the messaging application. The online simulation tracks the requests made by the messaging application and predicts the operation of the messaging application for each pool size. The data predicted includes the number of spill and unspill operations that read and write to disk. In addition, a method for calculating the age of the oldest message in a memory pool is disclosed. The age is used in determining the number of spill and unspill operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2005Publication date: May 24, 2007Applicant: ORACLE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONInventor: Nimar Arora

Patent number: 6980988Abstract: A method for applying changes to a standby system is described in which multiple apply tasks or “slaves” are scheduled to changes from redo logs, especially those changes in large transactions, in parallel and as soon as they are encountered in the logs. To foster data convergence, a partial ordering may be imposed on the transactions so that those transactions that actually depend on others are forced to wait on the transactions they are dependent upon commit. To foster read consistency, synchronization points may be periodically established, at which points a read consistent state of the standby database system can be obtained-all without adversely impact the throughput of the system.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2002Date of Patent: December 27, 2005Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Alan J. Patent number: 6708179Abstract: A framework for the incrementally refreshing a materialized view is provided. The materialized view is based on a query that references a projected table and another set of base tables. The query projects the columns of the projected table. To refresh the materialized view, a set of tuples is computed that identify rows to delete, insert, or otherwise modify in the materialized view in order to refresh it. The set of tuples is computed by computing a set of intersections, (1) one for the intersection between the query and the change log of the projected table, and (2) at least one other between the equijoin of the change log for one of the other base tables and the projected table. The query may define an equijoin between the projected table and at least one base table based on equijoin conditions that define a many-to-many relationship or a one-to-many relationship.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2001Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventor: Nimar Arora
