Abstract: A device for continuous release of a fluid at a near-optimum rate, the device including: a reservoir, having dimensions such that the fluid disposed in the reservoir is held in a shape having a height to a width ratio whereby the width is greater than the height; a flow-rate regulator adapted to regulate fluid release rate of the fluid exiting the reservoir via the flow-rate regulator.

Abstract: An insect trapping device includes an enclosure defining a trapping space having a bottom wall with a patterned surface, the pattern dividing the bottom wall's inner surface into a plurality of polygonal surface elements, and having openings formed in side wall thereof of a size permitting entry of the insects into the trapping space, and a semiochemical dispenser disposed within the enclosure and for releasing in a controlled manner the semiochemical into the trapping space and into its surroundings. A method of monitoring insects that infest crop in an area using the devices is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a device for dispensing a substance for insects or mites, the device comprising a container holding a liquid formulation comprising said substance and a substrate, the container having a dispensing nozzle that can discharge the formulation in a controlled manner onto said substrate. The substrate may be porous or non porous and the container may be in physical contact with the substrate or suspended above.

Abstract: An insecticidal composition comprising at least one attractant (0.05 to 95% w/w), at least one insecticide (0.05 to 1% w/w) and at least one stabilizer (0.1 to 5% w/w). The insecticidal composition may be used together with a suitable carrier to efficiently control flying insects. The viscous composition after being placed within a suitable carrier interacts with naturally occurring humidity whereby the outer layer of the composition loses its viscosity, diffuses downwards and occupies the entire area of the trap or suitable carrier, thereby releasing a small amount of composition. Control of flying insects using the composition together with a suitable carrier is comparable to spraying. Only small amounts of insecticide are needed which are released slowly by the composition.

Abstract: A device for killing flying insects is provided. The device includes a planar textile area arranged for suspension in a vertical plane, provided on one face with a pocket extending over a portion of the area, a closed edge of the pocket being disposed proximate to the center of the area, the pocket having at least one aperture to allow the insertion therethrough of a viscous liquid poisonous to flying insects and having an odor attractive to the insects. The liquid spreads over the major portion of the area by gravity and capillary action. Insects are attracted to the device dying consequent to ingestion of the liquid.
