According to the invention, the material component of plant origin is a material which is formed from small particles and which is formed from a source material of plant origin selected at least mainly from the group of bark free wood, stem parts of plants and their combinations and their derivatives, and the paper product contains 4 to 50 vol-% of the material component of plat origin, substantially to increase the printing area in the paper product relative to the bulk of the paper. In addition, the invention relates to a process for manufacturing a paper product.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for processing lignin. The method includes feeding lignin material to the system, decreasing particle size of the lignin material in a grinding device in order to manufacture lignin powder having particle size distribution wherein at least 85 wt. % of the lignin agglomerates and particles are less than 300 microns, and increasing dry solids content of the lignin material at least 5 percentage units while decreasing the particle size in the grinding device. Abstract: The invention relates to a process for forming a paper product, wherein a base paper is formed from fiber based raw material, and the base paper is coated to form the paper product. According to the invention, a treatment material layer which contains a cationic compound is provided on the base paper, at least on one of its surfaces, and a coating layer is provided on the cationic treatment material layer.
