Abstract: A mobile device including a housing having a distal end, and electronics disposed in the housing configured to operate the mobile device. A connector is coupled to the electronics, and a Pi-shaped antenna has a coupling coupled to the connector to create a resonance using the connector. The Pi-shaped antenna and the connector are configured to wirelessly send and receive the wireless signals. An impedance matching network matches the impedance of the electronics to the Pi-shaped antenna. In some embodiments, the impedance matching network is switchable by the electronics and is configured to match an impedance of the electronics to the Pi-shaped antenna in at least two states, over multiple RF bands.

The method includes receiving a web address entered by a user for a webpage to be displayed on a terminal device and sending webpage request information containing the received web address to a server based on the received web address. The method also includes receiving webpage information corresponding to the web address returned from the server, where the webpage information includes images, videos, Flash animations, source files and styles. Further, the method includes performing operations for saving network traffic volume on the webpage information based on the received webpage information and displaying the processed webpage information in a web browser.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for an efficient antenna design and operation method to adjust or add frequency bands at mobile devices using the available limited antenna size. The embodiments include electrically coupling to the antenna elements at a mobile or radio device a tuning stub or element through a printed circuit board (PCB) or a metal chassis. The PCB is placed between the antenna elements and the tuning stub and is connected to the antenna elements. The tuning stub, e.g., at a corner of the PCB, is connected or disconnected via a switch from the PCB, and hence the antenna elements, to shift the radiation of the antenna at different frequencies and also provide an additional mode of radiation. The tuning stub can also be switched to vary the radiation pattern of the antenna.

The above page sharing method, apparatus and system enable a user to operate without need to additionally open an instant messaging tool so as to avoid extra memory usage, increase memory utilization and improve the running speed of a mobile device.

Abstract: The present disclosure is applied in field of mobile internet, and provides method and device for loading a read content, the method includes: acquiring a loading condition evaluation parameter of the mobile terminal, the loading condition evaluation parameter including a network environment parameter; determining a loading condition level of the mobile terminal according to the loading condition evaluation parameter; adapting a loading strategy corresponding to the loading condition level in a preset loading strategy table; loading the read content according to the loading strategy. The embodiments of the present method can adapt a suitable loading strategy for the read content needs to be loaded according to the network environment, in which the mobile terminal is currently, so as to implement an adaptive adjustment of the loading strategy and ensure that the read content can be loaded in a shortest time no matter of the network environment.

Abstract: Improved steel compositions and methods of making the same are provided. The present disclosure provides advantageous wear resistant steel. More particularly, the present disclosure provides high manganese (Mn) steel having enhanced wear resistance, and methods for fabricating high manganese steel compositions having enhanced wear resistance. The advantageous steel compositions/components of the present disclosure improve one or more of the following properties: wear resistance, ductility, crack resistance, erosion resistance, fatigue life, surface hardness, stress corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, and/or environmental cracking resistance. In general, the present disclosure provides high manganese steels tailored to resist wear and/or erosion.

Abstract: A method for inspecting an edible oil includes obtaining a first Raman spectrum from an edible oil sample, discovering an unhealthy, unsanitary, unsafe, or adulterated content in the edible oil sample in part by the intensity level of the fluorescence background in the first Raman spectrum, introducing the edible oil sample to nano-scale surface structures to allow molecules of the edible oil sample to be adsorbed to the nano-scale surface structures, illuminating the edible oil sample and the nano-scale surface structures by a laser beam, obtaining a second Raman spectrum from light scattered by molecules of the edible oil sample adsorbed to the nano-scale surface structures, and identifying the unhealthy, unsanitary, or unsafe content in the edible oil sample using one or more first spectral signatures in the second Raman spectrum.

Abstract: The proposed adaptive exhaust nozzle features an innovative use of the shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators for actively control of the opening area of the exhaust nozzle for jet engines. The SMA actuators remotely control the opening area of the exhaust nozzle through a set of mechanism. An important advantage of using SMA actuators is the reduction of weight of the actuator system for variable area exhaust nozzle. Another advantage is that the SMA actuator can be activated using the heat from the exhaust and eliminate the need of other energy source. A prototype has been designed and fabricated. The functionality of the proposed SMA actuated adaptive exhaust nozzle is verified in the open-loop tests.

Abstract: A rotary steerable apparatus is provided having an actuator for pushing the bit or pointing the bit that includes a shape memory alloy. An elongated form of the alloy, such as a wire or rod, is employed in a mechanism that applies force in a direction transverse to the wellbore in response to a change in length of the alloy. Temperature of the alloy is controlled to change shape and produce the desired force on pads for operating the apparatus. The apparatus may be used with downhole power generation and control electronics to steer a bit, either in response to signals from the surface or from downhole instruments.

Abstract: A presence service access device is disclosed for a presentity to publish presence information and transmit said information to the presence server, the device comprising a presentity communication module and a service scheduling control module. Further disclosed is a presence service system using the presence service access device, comprising a presentity, a presence service access device, a presence server, and a watcher client. Also disclosed is a method of publishing and acquiring presence information comprising steps of: 1. a presentity which publishes presence information; 2. the presence service access device which receives the presence information published by the presentity and forwards the same to a presence server; and 3. the presence server which distributes the presence information to corresponding watcher client. According to the present invention, various presentities provide presence information to watcher clients by connecting presence servers through a presence service access device.
