Abstract: A chemiluminescent composition comprising an oxalate and an activator component wherein at least one of said oxalate or activator components contains a fluorescer and at least one of said oxalate or activator components contains an organic polymer. The combined concentration of said organic polymer contained in both components is above 50% by weight of the total composition, and said organic polymer is an insoluble solid. Further, The activator component contains a peroxide at a concentration below 2% by weight of the total composition.

Abstract: One embodiment of a chemiluminescent device, suitable for impact activation, has the external form of a spherical tube structure with a length to width ratio of 0.5:1 to 3:1 and an internal brittle ampoule floating freely within an external tough shell. This form of the chemiluminescent device is very suitable for use in throwing, especially for fixed point throwing and limited space throwing.

Abstract: An embodiment of an oxalate ester chemiluminescent light system comprises two components. One component is an oxalate ester, containing at least 0.01M oxalate ester and 0.001M fluorescer in a suitable solvent; the other component contains 0.01M to 3M of hydrogen peroxide in a polyethylene glycol mixed solvent, where the amount of polyethylene glycol in the mixture is from 1%-99% and the balance of the mixed solvent may be an ester. In comparison to chemiluminescent light systems comprising tertiary alcohols, the light emitting system with the polyethylene glycol has lower toxicity, higher flash point and lower vapor pressure; the energy of the chemical light produced is about 15% higher; and storage stability is better.
