Publication number: 20250331516Abstract: Disclosed are cleaning formulations. The cleaning formulation may include (i) about 1% to about 5% by weight of citric acid, (ii) about 0.1% to about 2% by weight of lactic acid, (iii) about 0.01% to about 1% by weight of a preservative, and (iv) about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of at least one non-ethoxylated surfactant. The cleaning formulation may further include one or more of the following non-limiting adjuncts: solvents, fragrances, preservatives, water, pH adjusting agents or any mixture or combination thereof. The ratio of citric acid to lactic acid in the cleaning formulation may be about 3:1 to 5:1. Additionally, the cleaning formulation may exhibit at least a 3-log reduction in a Staphylococcus aureus population within 10 minutes, as tested on a soft, porous surface. Hard surface sanitization and/or disinfection may also be provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2024Publication date: October 30, 2025Inventors: Schavel Morrison-Gerry, Nipa Modi

Publication number: 20240397953Abstract: Sanitizing and disinfecting compositions with relatively low levels of free available chlorine, with good effectiveness against microbes. The composition may include less than 0.5% by weight hypochlorite or other free available chlorine level, at least one nonionic or zwitterionic surfactant, with a pH from 8 to 12.5. The composition is characterized by an R value of greater than 0 (e.g., greater than 0.5, or equal to 1), where R is defined as the sum of the concentration of any nonionic, zwitterionic, and cationic surfactants divided by the total surfactant concentration (and total surfactant concentration may include any surfactant aids). The compositions may exhibit at least a 3-log reduction in M. bovis or C. diff population within 10 minutes (e.g., 4-6 minutes).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2024Publication date: December 5, 2024Inventors: Marisa Macnaughtan, Nipa Modi, Thomas Fahlen, Wenyu Zhang, Ashley Joseph, Timothy Mui

Publication number: 20230301299Abstract: Cleaning compositions that include carvacrol, in an amount sufficient to provide an antimicrobial effect. For example, the compositions can include 0.1% to 2% by weight of carvacrol. The cleaning compositions advantageously further include a surfactant, particularly an anionic surfactant, which enhances the antimicrobial efficacy characteristics of the carvacrol. For example, the composition can include at least 0.1%, at least 0.3%, or at least 0.5% of one or more anionic surfactants. Alkyl sulfates (e.g., C8 to C12 alkyl sulfates) are particularly suitable. A buffer may also be present. The compositions may have a relatively high pH, e.g., 9 to 12. The cleaning composition may exhibit a significant log reduction against a target microorganism (e.g., Staphylococcus aureus and/or others) within a given time period (e.g., 10 minutes, 5 minutes, or the like), when used on a target surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2023Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventors: Nancy A.
