  • Publication number: 20240152159
Abstract: Aspects of embodiments to systems and methods for navigating a mobile platform using an imaging device on the platform, from a point of origin towards a target located in a scene, and without requiring a Global Navigation Satellite system (GNSS), by employing the following steps: acquiring, by the imaging device, an image of the scene comprising the target; determining, based on analysis of the image, a direction vector pointing from the mobile platform to the target; advancing the mobile platform in accordance with the direction vector to a new position; and generating, by a distance sensing device, an output as a result of attempting to determine, with the distance sensing device, a distance between the mobile platform and the target. The mobile platform advanced towards the target until the output produced by the distance sensing device is descriptive of a distance which meets a low-distance criterion.

  • Patent number: 11826028
Abstract: A method of sealing a resected surface of an organ includes applying a synthetic matrix to a resected surface of an organ, and applying an adhesive on the synthetic matrix so that the adhesive penetrates through interstices of the synthetic matrix for contacting an interface between the synthetic matrix and the resected surface of the organ. The method includes curing the adhesive for bonding the synthetic matrix to the resected surface of the organ. The synthetic matrix is a non-woven mesh made of polyglactin 910 or any other synthetic or non-synthetic fabric having a similar porosity or density. The adhesive is a biosynthetic or a synthetic adhesive. After penetrating through the pores of the synthetic matrix and curing, the cured biosynthetic or synthetic adhesive mechanically interlocks with the synthetic matrix for adhering the synthetic matrix to the tissue for creating a sealing barrier.

  • Publication number: 20220331475
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a hemostatic patch comprising a porous substrate and at least a pair of co-reactive polymer reagents comprising at least one nucleophilic polyalkylene oxide based component and at least one electrophilic polyalkylene oxide-based on the porous substrate in a molar ratio of about 0.2 to about 0.9:1 of primary nucleophilic groups in excess to available electrophilic groups. The present invention is also directed to processes for the manufacture and use of such hemostatic patches.

  • Publication number: 20220023488
Abstract: The present invention is directed to medical devices having a first porous substrate layer with at least a surface coating thereon of a first co-reactive component and a second substrate layer with at least a surface coating layer of a second co-reactive component that reacts with the first co-reactive component, and a removable barrier layer positioned between the first substrate layer and second substrate layer and in contact with said first substrate layer and said second substrate layer.
