  • Patent number: 7844602
Abstract: A search engine that provides search results which are ordered, in part, based on an automated analysis of the organizational structure of a group of documents, as indicated by the address of the documents, is disclosed. In one embodiment, a bot crawls various websites analyzing documents, and their organizational structure, in an effort to identify documents that have an implicit high quality based on their inclusion in an index. Accordingly, the search engine provides a greater weight in ranking document relevance to those documents that have been included in certain indexes, such as top ten lists, and A-Z lists.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 19, 2007
Date of Patent: November 30, 2010
    Assignee: Healthline Networks, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20080244375
Abstract: Hyperlinks are automatically created and inserted into a subject document at the location of a subject concept within the subject document. The determination of when and where to insert the hyperlinks is made on the basis of associations of the subject concept with one or more object resources (to which the hyperlinks will point) according to semantic relationships between the subject concepts and the object resources as defined by a taxonomy. The hyperlinks may be displayed within a published version of the subject document in response to a cursor-control event.

  • Publication number: 20080209009
Abstract: Search result files are synchronized among multiple servers so that each of the servers stores copies of the search result files stored by others of the servers. Such synchronizing may be performed periodically. In cases where search result files stored at different servers have similar labels, older ones of the similarly labeled search result files may be replaced by newer ones thereof at each respective one of the servers during the synchronization process.
