  • Patent number: 9588965
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for identifying and characterizing an analogy in a document. In one implementation, the method comprises identifying a candidate document. The candidate document comprises an analogy for a target concept, a region of interest and a linguistic marker included in the region of interest. Further, the method comprises classifying the candidate document as an analogy document or a non-analogy document based upon a size of a region of interest and a count of linguistic marker. Furthermore, the method comprises identifying a source concept from the analogy document. Subsequently, the method comprises characterizing the source concept with corresponding metadata. The metadata comprises a familiarity of the source concept, a length of the source concept, and a readability of the source concept.

  • Publication number: 20150072335
Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a system and a method for providing augmented based learning content to a user. In one embodiment, based on a learning source accessed by the user, the system is enabled to extract topics for retrieving learning content from online or offline resources such as the Internet or a system database, respectively. Thus, the learning source may be augmented by retrieving the learning content from the online or offline sources. Further, information layers may be generated based on topics/subjects being read by the user. The generated information layers may be populated with the retrieved learning content. The system may be enabled for matching the learning content populated in the information layers with a profile of the user stored in a user profile database. Based on the matching, the learning content may be delivered to the user. The delivered learning content may be personalized to the user.

  • Publication number: 20050279240
Abstract: A system for identifying rail weights applicable to worn railroad rails measured along a railroad track system includes at least one track measurement device for recording at least a portion of a profile shape of the worn rails, and, a data processor running a software implement for accepting recorded data as input data from the at least one track measurement device and for processing the input data against known unworn railroad rail data to facilitate selection and application of the appropriate rail weights equated thereto to the worn railroad rails.

  • Publication number: 20050080569
Abstract: A method for aligning measured track data collected from a railroad track to correct geographic location information for geometric parameters in the measured track data includes steps for (a) obtaining track geography data for use as reference data in data alignment; (b) reconstructing the track geography data to simulate in form and in coverage of length the measured track data to be aligned; (c) comparing the reconstructed reference data to the measured track data to identify a relative misalignment value between the data types; and (d) using the value identified through comparison to correct the geographic location information contained in the measured track data.
