  • Publication number: 20150322789
Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium for monitoring a life of a gas turbine component is disclosed. A numerical model of the gas turbine component is created and parameter measurements are obtained in real-time for at least a portion of the gas turbine component. The parameter measurements are fused with a subset of the numerical model corresponding to the portion of the gas turbine component to obtain a subset of a fused parameter model corresponding to the portion of the gas turbine component. The subset of the fused parameter model is expanded to obtain the fused parameter model that corresponds to at least a location outside of the portion of the gas turbine component. The life of the gas turbine component is monitored using the fused temperature model.

  • Patent number: 9183127
Abstract: A region of memory is logically divided into a number of segments, each of which is logically divided into a number of blocks. Blocks are allocated sequentially. A head pointer and a tail pointer demarcate the section of allocated blocks. As allocated blocks are added, the tail pointer is moved so that it remains at the end of the section of allocated blocks. If the tail pointer is within a threshold distance of the head pointer, then the head pointer is moved from its current position to a new position, and the allocated blocks between the current and new positions are freed (deallocated and/or erased). Thus, writes to the memory can be performed sequentially, and blocks can be freed in advance of when they are actually needed.

  • Patent number: 9173615
Abstract: Methods and apparatus combine patient measurement data with demographic or physiological data of the patient to determine an output that can be used to diagnose and treat the patient. A customized output can be determined based the demographics of the patient, physiological data of the patient, and data of a population of patients. In another aspect, patient measurement data is used to predict an impending cardiac event, such as acute decompensated heart failure. At least one personalized value is determined for the patient, and a patient event prediction output is generated based at least in part on the personalized value and the measurement data. For example, bioimpedance data may be used to establish a baseline impedance specific to the patient, and the patient event prediction output generated based in part on the relationship of ongoing impedance measurements to the baseline impedance. Multivariate prediction models may enhance prediction accuracy.

  • Patent number: 9166577
Abstract: A clock modulator can include two configurable delay units and can receive a baseband signal and a clock signal. The two configurable delay units can generate two delayed clock signals, each with different delay amounts. The delay amounts can be based on the baseband signal. The delayed clock signals can be combined to generate a modulated clock signal. A quadrature modulated clock signal can be generated when a first clock modulator receives a first baseband signal and a first clock signal and a second clock modulator receives a second baseband signal and a second clock signal. The first clock signal can be a ninety-degree phase shifted version of the second clock signal. The modulated clock signal from the first clock modulator can be combined with the modulated clock signal from the second clock modulator to generate the quadrature modulated clock signal.

  • Patent number: 9155769
Abstract: The present invention relates to flavor oils including mint-, fruit- and spice-type flavors that are specially processed to substantially eliminate low-molecular weight sulfur compounds, in particular dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), which has been found to be the main precursor of malodorous species such as dimethyl sulfide and methyl mercaptan. These malodorous species are produced via oxidation-reduction reactions involving such sulfur-containing compounds present in flavor oils. A preferred processing method is an aqueous-washing process, which has advantages of being simple, inexpensive and easy to implement while importantly avoiding the problems of typical processes including non-selective removal of desirable components and subjecting the flavor oils to extreme conditions that may destroy other components and result in undesirable changes in flavor or odor character.

  • Patent number: 9161095
Abstract: Systems and methods for blackout management in media distribution systems may include a central data center in a service provider's domain. The central data server may coordinate with a blackout manager that implements control features for blackout. In contrast to (or to supplement) blackout control solutions that require integrated receiver decoders (IRD)s to be physically installed at each of the regional headends in the service provider network, the blackout manager may provide three functions: 1) a Virtual IRD (VIRD) function 2) access control functions via access control component, and 3) VIRD-to-EndPoint mapping function in the linkage manager.

  • Publication number: 20150286695
Abstract: A memory controller detects a request, with a key to a data object and a value, to perform an operation. The memory controller locates the data object by mapping the key to a location of the data object in a tiered data structure and identifies a sequence number of the data object. When the sequence number of the data object is greater than a sequence number of a snapshot of the tiered data structure, the memory controller replaces the data object with a modified data object, including the key and the value, and assigns the modified object a unique sequence number. When the sequence number of the data object is less than the sequence number of the snapshot, the memory controller inserts a new data object, including the key and the value, into the tiered data structure and assigns the new data object the unique sequence number.
