  • Patent number: 4989017
Abstract: A thermal print head having a base, a glass glaze layer formed on the base by electrically-heated welding, and heating elements formed on the glass glaze layer. A manufacturing method of a thermal print head uses a furnace to accommodate molten glass and a pair of opposed electrodes disposed within the furnace to melt the glass by flowing the current. The method comprises the steps of supplying electric power across the electrodes to cause electric current to flow through glass so as to melt glass, passing an elongated base through the molten glass accommodated in the furnace to form a glass glaze layer on the base, and forming heating elements on the glass glaze layer.

  • Patent number: 4866459
Abstract: A laser printer includes a semiconductor laser for generating a laser beam which is modulated according to information, a rotating polygon mirror for scanning the laser beam generated by the semiconductor laser, and an f.theta. lens system for imaging, onto a photosensitive drum, the laser beam scanned by the rotating polygon mirror. The f.theta. lens system has first and second lenses arranged, in this order, next to the rotating polygon mirror and on the optical path through which the laser beam is introduced from the rotating polygon mirror to the photosensitive drum. Each of the first and second lenses has light-entering and -emerging faces which are formed in a non-spherical shape.

  • Patent number: 4861137
Abstract: The mounting device for a resin lens, used for refracting a light beam in the formation of an image, has a housing in which laser diode and bimetals are supported. An acrylic-resin lens, for use as the resin lens, is supported by the bimetals. As the ambient temperature changes, the focal point of the lens is displaced, and at the same time, moving parts of the bimetals are displaced. As its focal point is displaced in this manner, the lens shifts its position. Thus, the position of the focal point of the acrylic-resin lens is corrected by means of the bimetals.

  • Patent number: 4528936
Abstract: A developing apparatus is provided with a developing roll for carrying a toner thereon and an elastic blade pressed against the surface of the developing roll to apply the toner thereto. The toner is thus applied to the surface of the developing roll by the elastic blade to form a thin layer of the toner on the surface of the developing roll. The thin layer is opposed to a photosensitive drum at a predetermined space to deposit the toner on an electrostatic latent image in the photosensitive drum. A regulation member is attached to the housing so as to positioned between the housing and the elastic blade. The regulation member has an outlet port of a first width at a central portion thereof. The elastic blade is pressed against the developing roll with a second width greater than the first width.
