  • Publication number: 20240146399
Abstract: A communications system may include user equipment (UE) device, satellites, and a gateway. The UE and gateway may perform implicit handover in which the UE and gateway independently identify the same serving satellite using ephemeris data, without additional signaling overhead. The UE may also characterize its channel conditions. When insufficient, the UE may transmit an explicit handover message to the gateway via a different satellite visible to the UE. The explicit handover message may include a satellite identifier and a lock bit. The gateway may use the satellite identifier to convey wireless data with the UE via the different satellite during the next cycle. The gateway may use the lock bit to know how to perform handover away from the different cycle during subsequent cycles. In this way, the UE may direct handover, given that the gateway has no knowledge of the channel condition at the UE.

  • Publication number: 20240143072
Abstract: In various examples, systems and methods are disclosed that provide highly accurate gaze predictions that are specific to a particular user by generating and applying, in deployment, personalized calibration functions to outputs and/or layers of a machine learning model. The calibration functions corresponding to a specific user may operate on outputs (e.g., gaze predictions from a machine learning model) to provide updated values and gaze predictions. The calibration functions may also be applied one or more last layers of the machine learning model to operate on features identified by the model and provide values that are more accurate. The calibration functions may be generated using explicit calibration methods by instructing users to gaze at a number of identified ground truth locations within the interior of the vehicle. Once generated, the calibration functions may be modified or refined through implicit gaze calibration points and/or regions based on gaze saliency maps.

  • Publication number: 20240126840
Abstract: A system and a method to create clusters in an area are disclosed. Initially, a set of location data points associated with a plurality of user devices in an area and a defined block area are received. Further, a rectangular boundary is created by connecting a first reference point, a second reference point, a third reference point, and a fourth reference point identified based on a latitude and a longitude of each user device. Furthermore, a set of blocks are created by dividing the rectangular boundary based on the defined block area. The set of blocks are sorted based on a number of location data points present in each block. Subsequently, the set of blocks are reconfigured by determining a centroid of a plurality of location data points present in each block. Finally, a plurality of clusters is created in the area upon marking the reconfigured set of blocks.

  • Patent number: 11959374
Abstract: System and methods for event prediction during drilling operations are provided. Regression data associated with coefficients of a predictive model are retrieved for a downhole event during a drilling operation along a planned path of a wellbore. The regression data includes a record of changes in historical coefficient values associated with prior occurrences of the event. As the wellbore is drilled over different stages of the operation, a value of an operating variable is estimated based on values of the coefficients and real-time data acquired during each stage. A percentage change in coefficient values adjusted between successive stages of the operation is tracked. An occurrence of the downhole event is estimated, based on a correlation between the percentage change tracked for at least one coefficient and a corresponding change in the historical coefficient values. The path of the wellbore is adjusted, based on the estimated occurrence of the event.
