  • Publication number: 20250232800
Abstract: A vehicle electrical architecture includes a first vehicle control module node including a first remote direct memory access (RDMA) capable network interface card and a mutex client, and a second vehicle control module node including a second RDMA capable network interface card, a mutex server, and a memory, with an Ethernet link in communication between the first and second RDMA capable network interface cards. The first vehicle control module node is configured to receive a write request for a specified memory region of the second vehicle control module node, communicate with the mutex server of the second vehicle control module node, via the mutex client, to request a mutex lock associated with the specified memory region, and in response to a notification of the mutex lock being obtained, execute an RDMA write operation to the specified memory region.

  • Patent number: 12260760
Abstract: A system for accessing vehicle sensor data. The system includes receiving vehicle sensor data and a vehicle location associated with the vehicle sensor data from a publisher vehicle. A subscriber request for remote data is received from a service subscriber. The subscriber request includes a request location. A match condition is determined. The match condition includes a vehicle location match between the request location and the vehicle location. The vehicle sensor data is transmitted to the service subscriber upon the occurrence of the match condition.

  • Patent number: 12007248
Abstract: Upon determining a mobile object is approaching an ice layer above a body of water, a thermal image of the ice layer is obtained. The thermal image and ambient temperature data are input to a neural network that outputs a plurality of regions of the ice layer and respective estimated thicknesses for the regions. A classification for each region is determined based on its estimated thickness and the mobile object. The classification is one of preferred or nonpreferred. The classifications for the regions are output.

  • Patent number: 11878718
Abstract: A method for controlling a vehicle includes identifying a user identity associated with a user riding in the vehicle, determining a destination associated with the user identity, creating a detection zone proximate to the vehicle when the vehicle is localized in a first drop-off location associated with the destination, causing a sensory system to identify a hazard within the detection zone and generate a localization of the hazard, determining that a first probability of realizing a risk associated with the hazard is less than a first probability threshold, and generating a vehicle door actuation that permits the user to exit the vehicle based on the first probability of realizing the risk.

  • Patent number: 11804129
Abstract: This disclosure is generally directed to detecting stalking of an individual who is traveling in a connected vehicle. In an example method, a first individual traveling in a first connected vehicle may enter into a personal device (a smartphone, for example), a request to perform a surveillance operation. The personal device may respond to the request by communicating with a cloud computer. The personal device and/or the cloud computer may obtain data from a vehicle computer of the first connected vehicle and/or from a vehicle computer of a second connected vehicle and evaluate the data to detect a travel pattern of a second individual traveling in either the first connected vehicle or the second connected vehicle. The travel pattern of the second individual is then evaluated to determine whether the second individual is stalking the first individual. A report of the surveillance procedure may be provided to the first individual.

  • Patent number: 11722789
Abstract: In order to display driving assistance images to a driver in a vehicle, visible light images are captured using a visible light camera mounted for viewing a roadway on which the vehicle travels and infrared images overlapping with the visible light images are captured using an infrared camera mounted for viewing the roadway. The visible light images are normally displayed on a display screen when a visible light brightness around the vehicle is greater than a brightness threshold. Trigger conditions are monitored which are indicative of limitations of a driver visibility when directly viewing the roadway. The trigger conditions include a driver reaction. The monitored trigger condition is classified according to a plurality of predetermined classifications which indicate an occurrence of an impairment event. The infrared images are selected for display on the display screen upon occurrence of the impairment event.

  • Publication number: 20230052297
Abstract: This disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for providing a software sensor in a vehicle. In an example embodiment, a determination is made regarding the availability of a feature upgrade to a vehicle and a request may be made (to a cloud computer, for example), for obtaining the feature upgrade. The cloud computer provides an emulation software module based on emulating a first sensor that is unavailable in the vehicle. The feature upgrade may be installed in the vehicle by executing the emulation software module and by use of a second sensor that is available in the vehicle. In an example implementation, the second sensor available in the vehicle is a type of hardware sensor such as, for example, a camera, and the first sensor that is emulated is a different type of hardware sensor such as, for example, an air quality sensor.

  • Patent number: 11546734
Abstract: Systems and methods to provide security to an occupant of a first vehicle. In an example method, a computer provided in the first vehicle establishes a geofence that surrounds the first vehicle. The computer may detect a second vehicle that is present inside the geofence at one or more times and may react to the detection by obtaining data that provides information about an identity of the second vehicle. In one scenario, the data may be obtained via vehicle-to-vehicle communication between the first vehicle and the second vehicle. The computer may evaluate the data to identify a driver of the second vehicle and to confirm that the second vehicle is carrying out a stalking operation and may pose a security threat. The computer may then automatically contact a police officer to report the security threat.

  • Publication number: 20220371604
Abstract: This disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for protecting the health of occupants of a vehicle. In an example method, a sensor in a vehicle sends sensor data to a computer, based on detecting a symptomatic feature that indicates a health status of a first occupant of the vehicle. In one case, the symptomatic feature may be an elevated body temperature that may be symptomatic of a fever. In another case, the detected symptomatic feature may be a sound emitted by the first occupant such as, for example, a cough, a sneeze, or a wheeze. The computer evaluates the sensor data and identifies a health risk posed by the first occupant to a second occupant of the vehicle. The computer may address the health risk, for example, by modifying an air quality inside the vehicle or by instructing the occupants of the vehicle to don masks.

  • Patent number: 11321367
Abstract: An indication of a physical location specified as a name of a geoshortcut is received. The name is identified as corresponds to the geoshortcut according to a format of the name matching a format of geoshortcut name identifiers. The name is sent, to a cloud server maintaining a geoshortcut service, in a request for geoshortcut information regarding the geoshortcut. The geoshortcut information regarding the geoshortcut is received from the cloud server responsive to the request, the geoshortcut information including data identifying the physical location in a native format as received, data identifying the physical location in a predefined location format available across geoshortcuts, and expiration data indicative of for how long the data identifying the physical location is deemed valid. The geoshortcut information is utilized to determine the physical location referenced by the name of the geoshortcut.
