  • Patent number: 10114932
Abstract: Adapting a mobile or other application (“app”) to a partitioned environment is disclosed. In various embodiments, a “secure zone” or other logical partition is created and enforced at least in part by adapting a mobile or other app to behave in a manner required by and/or otherwise associated with the secure zone or other partition and which behavior is or in various embodiments may be different than a native behavior of the mobile or other app as designed and written by an application developer of the app.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 30, 2018
    Assignee: MOBILE IRON, INC.
Inventors: Eric M. Marion, Nitin Sonawane
  • Patent number: 9661383
Abstract: A system and a method receive broadcast multimedia on a mobile device. The system and the method may use a broadcast receiver accessory that may connect to a mobile device. The system and the method may have a bidirectional data connection between the broadcast receiver accessory and the mobile device. The broadcast receiver accessory may translate, reformat and/or repackage content into a form that may be viewed on the mobile device. The broadcast receiver accessory may have a tuner component, an application processor, an audio rendering element and/or memory.

  • Patent number: 9386009
Abstract: Providing secure access to a mobile or other device using a network-assisted PIN or other short password is disclosed. In various embodiments, upon entry by a user of a personal identification number (PIN) or other short password, the password and a unique identifier, such as a user and/or device identifier, and/or other data, are sent to a remote server. The remote server returns to the mobile or other device a cryptographic key and/or other data, such as a more secure (e.g., more characters and/or including characters drawn from a larger set of characters) password usable at the mobile device to access encrypted data.

  • Patent number: 7027394
Abstract: Hybrid fiber/coax networks employ the existing cable plant used for cable TV and transmit data signals in a frequency bandwidth above that which is used for cable TV. As this cable plant was deployed in a tree and branch topology, data transmissions may be susceptible to noise, variable transmission loss and frequency dispersion, particularly in the upstream direction. Further, due to the tree and branch topology, homes at the far end of the network experience much greater loss than do the homes that are near to the headend/ONU. The present system, which uses point-to-point data links between intelligent network elements located in the feeder/distribution network to provide reliable, secure, bi-directional broadband access. Digital signals are terminated at the intelligent network elements, switched and regenerated for transmission across additional upstream or downstream data links as needed to connect a home to a headend or router.

  • Publication number: 20050239740
Abstract: The invention provides compositions, pharmaceutical preparations and methods for inhibition of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator protein (CFTR) that are useful for the study and treatment of CFTR-mediated diseases and conditions. The compositions and pharmaceutical preparations of the invention may comprise one or more hydrazide-containing compounds, and may additionally comprise one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, excipients and/or adjuvants. The methods of the invention comprise, in certain embodiments, administering to a patient suffering from a CFTR-mediated disease or condition, an efficacious amount of a hydrazide-containing compound. In other embodiments the invention provides methods of inhibiting CFTR that comprise contacting cells in a subject with an effective amount of a hydrazide-containing compound.

  • Publication number: 20020199205
Abstract: A virtual storage adapter provides networked data storage to a data processing device for delivering consumer entertainment services using virtual devices accessed over a high-speed quality-of-service-enabled communications network. A data storage device emulation unit emulates the functionality of a data storage device (e.g., a DVD or a CD) and a network interface comprising an IP Small Computer System Interface (“iSCSI”) compatible interface connects the data storage device emulation unit to an iSCSI storage gateway. The virtual storage adapter provides video on demand (“VoD”) services using a video on demand server comprising a video on demand portal for selection and an administration unit for billing. Personal video recorder services are also provided, including data expiration, capacity on demand, consolidated recording and community recording features.
