Abstract: The embodiments herein provide a method and system for automating the document control business process in an organization particularly the ones that are participating in infrastructure and/or large projects. The automatic method and system fetches information and data from the different data sources such as E-mails or web-applications and/or other data sources. The quality checks are performed as per the expected standards to validate the completeness of information to fetch the information as contained inside the documents received to perform the various actions associated with the received information such as further processing, acknowledgement, record updates etc. The business logic and rules are applied on the information to create automatically the business deliverables as reports, document transmittal notes, and acknowledgement notes etc., that are expected from a well-functioning document control center in an organization.
