  • Publication number: 20020195112
Abstract: A feeding device for feeding infants, includes a bottle open at a first end and closed at a second end opposite to the first end; and a nipple closing the first end of the bottle. The bottle is divided into at least a first compartment and a second compartment, each for containing a liquid, preferably a fore-milk equivalent liquid and a hind-milk equivalent liquid. The first compartment is in direct communication with the nipple to allow the infant to suck liquid directly therefrom. The second compartment is in communication with the nipple via the first compartment. In the described preferred embodiment, the bottle is constructed such that it first feeds to the infant the fore-milk equivalent liquid, and then feeds to the infant a mixture of the fore-milk equivalent liquid and the hind-milk equivalent liquid in a ratio in which the hind-milk equivalent liquid increases as the bottle is emptied.

  • Patent number: 6156351
Abstract: Chicken egg containing a synergistic composition of antioxidants and low poly-unsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). The egg includes no more than 15.5% PUFA of the eggs fatty acid and controlled amounts of vitamin E, lodine, edible carotenoids and additional edible antioxidants. The egg provides an antioxidative environment which reduces the oxidizability of consumer's LDL, which is accepted as a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases The egg is produced by maintaining an egg laying chicken on a regime wherein conventional feed ingredients and supplements are selected to provide about 0.7-1.5 wt. % PUFA of its entire diet, controlled amount of vitamin E, lodine, edible carotenoids and additional antioxidants.

  • Patent number: 5993866
Abstract: The present invention relates to modified food products, and especially low homocysteinogenic dairy products, where the modification requires enriching the food product with Vit B6, and optionally Folic acid, B12, and Mg. High Methionine foods, as well as low B6 intake can cause methionine load with resulting increase of hyper HCY. Folic acid is another major factor in reducing HCY. Hyper homocysteine (HCY) has been recently defined as an independent risk factor for CVD (Cardio Vascular Diseases) and can cause damage in other conditions i.e. mental, skeletal and Immunological.
