  • Publication number: 20220330914
Abstract: A steerable multi-plane ultrasound imaging system (MPUIS) for steering a plurality of intersecting image planes (PL1 . . . n) of a beamforming ultrasound imaging probe (BUIP) based on ultrasound signals transmitted between the beamforming ultrasound imaging probe (BUIP) and an ultrasound transducer (S) disposed within a field of view (FOV) of the probe (BUIP). An ultrasound tracking system (UTS) causes the beamforming ultrasound imaging probe (BUIP) to adjust an orientation of the first image plane (PL1) such that a first image plane passes through a position (POS) of the ultrasound transducer (S) by maximizing a magnitude of ultrasound signals transmitted between the beamforming ultrasound imaging probe (BUIP) and the ultrasound transducer (S). An orientation of a second image plane (PL2) is adjusted such that an intersection (AZ) between the first image plane and the second image plane passes through the position of the ultrasound transducer (S).

  • Patent number: 10720237
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a device by controlling the device based on input received from group members, uses a sensor for monitoring each group member for detecting an instruction provided by a group member. The instruction includes a visual or audible instruction. Upon detecting, a controller associates a control command with the instruction. The controller provides the control command to the device. For establishing the group, an authentication is performed for adding a user as a group member. For identifying the control command, the detected instruction is associated with the instructing group member, where the member profile is accessed from a memory including a set of reference instructions, and the instruction is matched with a reference instruction selected from the set of reference instructions in the profile.

  • Patent number: 10102612
Abstract: An apparatus (1) for rotating objects (40) on screens (9) defines a hand axis (20) in response to 3D position information related to the hands (21, 22) of a user and detects a changed orientation of the hand axis (20) with respect to a 3D space and calculates a rotation for the object (40) on the screen (9) in response to said detecting. This way, to rotate the object (40) on the screen (9), an imaginary copy of the object (40) is considered to be inside an imaginary ball (41) held by the user, which imaginary ball (41) is being rotated. The changed orientation of the hand axis (20) comprises changes in angles between the hand axis (20) and the axes (31, 32, 33) of the 3D space. To improve stability in case of each one of said changes being unequal to zero, the apparatus (1) further detects the angles and compares the respective angles with respective thresholds and reduces or weights the respective changes in response to respective comparison results.

The instruction includes a visual or audible instruction. Upon detecting, a control unit associates a control command with the instruction. An apparatus is arranged for performing the method.

  • Patent number: 9622715
Abstract: The invention relates to a system (100) for automating adjustment or adaptation of devices (141-143) such as light, computer programs and positioning of devices used during patient examination. The patient examination is performed by use of a scanner system where the patient is lying on a bed (102) which can be moved into a scanner zone of the scanner where the scanning can be performed and away from the scanner zone. The automated control is achieved by detecting the position of the bed and using the detected position for adjusting or adapting the state, i.e. the function or working of one or more devices (141-143).

  • Publication number: 20140317577
Abstract: A system has a contactless user-interface for control of the system through pre-determined gestures of a bodily part of the user. The user-interface has a camera and a data processing system. The camera captures video data, representative of the bodily part and of an environment of the bodily part. The data processing system processes the video data. The data processing system determines a current spatial relationship between the bodily part and another bodily part of the user. Only if the spatial relationship matches a pre-determined spatial relationship representative of the pre-determined gesture, the data processing system sets the system into a pre-determined state.

  • Publication number: 20100231504
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for manipulating images or graphics where the manipulation to be performed are selected or activated using eye-tracking. A number of hotspots are arranged around and bordering a region of interest (ROI), which are each, associated with an image parameter adjustment (e.g. contrast or brightness). An eye-tracking device determines a fixation point of the user and the system automatically performs the associated adjustment whenever the fixation point falls within a hotspot. The close bordering of the hotspots around the ROI allows the user to keep focus on the ROI and only slightly shift his/her gaze to or towards a hotspot for adjusting an image parameter. Thereby, the adjustment can be controlled while still keeping the ROI in focus so that the effect of the adjustment can be followed simultaneously.
