Abstract: A coaxial cable connector comprising: a connector body; a post engageable with the connector body, wherein the post includes a flange; a nut, axially rotatable with respect to the post and the connector body, the nut having a first end and an opposing second end, wherein the nut includes an internal lip, and wherein a second end portion of the nut corresponds to the portion of the nut extending from the second end of the nut to the side of the lip of the nut facing the first end of the nut at a point nearest the second end of the nut, and a first end portion of the nut corresponds to the portion of the nut extending from the first end of the nut to the same point nearest the second end of the nut of the same side of the lip facing the first end of the nut; and a continuity member disposed within the second end portion of the nut and contacting the post and the nut, so that the continuity member extends electrical grounding continuity through the post and the nut is provided.

Abstract: A multi-conductor cable connector comprising a connector engagement portion including: a rotatable outer housing, a threaded insert radially disposed within the outer housing, wherein the threaded insert has a slot therethrough, a key feature integral with the rotatable outer housing, the key feature configured to fit within the slot of the threaded insert, and a plurality of electrical contacts, wherein rotational movement of the rotatable housing is translated to axial movement of the threaded insert to securably engage a matingly corresponding multi-conductor cable connector. A multi-conductor cable connection pair is also provided. Furthermore, an associated method is also provided.

Abstract: A connector having a nut-body continuity element is provided, wherein the nut-body continuity element electrically couples a nut and a connector body, thereby establishing electrical continuity between the nut and the connector body. Furthermore, the nut-body continuity element facilitates grounding through the connector, and renders an electromagnetic shield preventing ingress of unwanted environmental noise.

Abstract: A compression connector for smooth walled, corrugated, and spiral corrugated coaxial cable includes an insulator disposed within the body, wherein the insulator contains a central opening therein which is dimensioned smaller than a collet portion which seizes a center conductor of the coaxial cable. The connector also includes a clamp disposed inside the body as well as a compression sleeve assembly. An intermediate connector element includes a transitional surface which interacts with the clamp. When an axial force is applied to the compression sleeve, the clamp is forced by the transitional surface into the body, causing the clamp to squeeze onto an outer conductor layer of the coaxial cable. At approximately the same time, the collet portion is forced through the central opening of the insulator, causing the collet portion to squeeze onto the center conductor.

The apparatus can provide selected information (e.g., Table 1) upstream for use that can improve operations or increase capabilities at one or more users.

Abstract: A coaxial cable connector includes a pin having a plurality of circumferentially spaced support arms, inward facing surfaces of the support arms defining a cavity. A shoulder is provided on the inward facing surfaces. A guide is axially received in the internal cavity, the guide having tabs at one and a radial flange at the other. An elastomeric cylindrical collar is disposed on the guide between the tabs and the flange. In a first position, the collar is axially uncompressed or axially partially compressed between the flange of the guide and the shoulders of the support arms. In a second position, the flange is positioned closer to the shoulders such that the collar is axially compressed between the flange and the shoulders to a shorter axial distance than in the first position and such that the collar is expanded radially outwardly to a greater amount than in the first position.

Abstract: A method of assembling a connector to a cable with a length. The method includes the steps of: providing a connector with first and second relatively movable parts; providing an apparatus with a frame defining a bearing surface, a force applying assembly, and an advancing assembly including a threaded component; placing the connector in a pre-assembly position on the cable; reinforcing the first part of the connector against the bearing surface; and turning the threaded component around an axis to thereby advance a part of the force applying assembly against the connector in a line that is substantially parallel to the length of the cable to thereby cause the first and second parts to be relatively moved from a pre-assembly state into an assembled state, wherein the connector is mechanically and electrically connected to the cable.
