    Abstract: A stock assembly is adapted to removably attach to the handle portion of an archery bow to convert the bow into a vertically oriented crossbow. The stock assembly has a laterally displaced gripping handle, and an elongated guide rod for constraining the path of movement of the bowstring to the path it would have in the absence of the stock assembly.
