  • Patent number: 7300309
Abstract: A compression connector for coupling an end of a coaxial cable and method of use is discussed. The connector includes a post, configured to be inserted into an end of the coaxial cable around the dielectric and under the protective outer jacket thereof. The device further includes a connector body, operatively positioned with respect to the post and including a plurality of closeable fingers, a fastener member, slidably receivable with respect to the connector body for closing the closeable fingers and for securing, in both directions, axial movement of the fastener member with respect to the connector body, an outer compression sleeve, and a threaded nut, engageable with the outer compression sleeve for securely coupling the hand installable compression connector to a coaxial cable interface port. An advantage of this connector is installation without the need for specialized tools.

  • Patent number: 7299542
Abstract: A multiple connector compression tool for use with multiple sized connectors and a cable is disclosed. The tool is designed to receive at least two different connector configurations. The tool does not require using adaptors which may be lost or misplaced. The tool has a long life because there are very few wear items while maintaining the ability to produce different connectors.

  • Patent number: 7189115
Abstract: A connector for coupling an end of a coaxial cable, the coaxial cable having a center conductor surrounded by a dielectric, the dielectric being surrounded by a spiral corrugated thin-walled conductor. The connector includes a connector body, a fastener member including a central passageway has a grooved surface dimensioned for closely receiving the spiral corrugated thin-walled conductor. The central passageway compresses inwardly to decrease the volume of the central passageway when moved toward the second end of the connector body causing a minor distortion of the spiral corrugated thin-walled conductor of the coaxial cable as said fastener member is advanced over the connector body toward the second end of said connector body.

  • Patent number: 7086876
Abstract: A coaxial cable port security device is provided, wherein the port security device comprises a one-way clutch mechanism positioned between a first body and a second body and utilized to prevent unauthorized access to a coaxial cable port unless a specific tool is used to negate the operation of the clutch mechanism and remove the port security device, thereby enabling authorized access to the port.

  • Patent number: 6994588
Abstract: A compression connector suitable for mounting upon the prepared end of a coaxial cable. The connector contains a body that defines an internal cavity made up of a main body section and a break away end section that is integrally joined to the main body section by axially extended tabs. The tabs are arranged to telescope inside the main body section when a sufficient axial force is applied to the body. A post is mounted inside the body and is arranged to pass between the inner dielectric layer and the woven mesh shield of a coaxial cable that is inserted into the body through the break away end section. The telescoped end section co-acts with the post to radially compress the cable in tight frictional engagement.
