Abstract: An outdoor item such as a sleeping bag, jacket, hat or blanket with one or more ventilation/temperature adjustment openings. Each ventilation/temperature adjustment opening includes, in one embodiment, a mechanism that serves to either form an opening in one or both of the outer layer, and the inner layer of the outdoor item. In another embodiment, the one or more ventilation/temperature adjustment mechanism includes an air bladder which, when inflated, serves to push aside any insulation adjacent the deflated air bladder while in both embodiments, allowing the outdoor item to vent better, thereby cooling an occupant using or wearing the outdoor item thereby offering temperature regulation.

  • Publication number: 20240148158
Abstract: A foamless, generally self-inflating sleeping pad comprises, in one embodiment, an inflatable sleeping pad frame to which is attached fabric top and bottom layers which are stretched into place when the frame is inflated. In a second embodiment, the frame and top and bottom layers of the sleeping pad are constructed of fabric however a central inflatable structure is provided, for example in the form of a ā€œZā€ shaped inflatable structure. In all cases, atmospheric air fills the interior volume of the sleeping pad and if required, a small volume of air may be added to the cavity by means of a two-way valve to increase the firmness of the sleeping pad.

  • Publication number: 20190261752
Abstract: The invention relates to a collapsible luggage bag that improves maneuverability of the bag when a user is towing the bag and collapses to a reduced size to improve portability. In particular, the invention relates to a handle that is slideably interconnected to one or more stays such that the upper ends of the stays change position along the length of the handle as the handle retracts into the luggage. Further, the handle disconnects from one or more of the stays such that the handle, stays, and other frame components collapse and lie in a common plane. This collapsibility improves the portability of the luggage bag when the internal volume of the luggage bag is not used to store items.

  • Publication number: 20180249775
Abstract: An article of clothing includes a torso portion, a first sleeve, and a second sleeve. The first sleeve is coupled to the first side of the torso portion. The second sleeve is coupled to the second side of the torso portion. The torso portion includes a plurality of resilient bands, one disposed diagonally on the front of the torso portion, and two diagonally disposed on the rear of the torso portion such that the two bands intersect one another. The first sleeve and the second sleeve each also include a resilient band. The front band of the torso and one of the rear bands of the torso may have a first modulus of elasticity. The second rear band of the torso and the band of the first sleeve may have a second modulus of elasticity. The band of the second sleeve may have a third modulus of elasticity.

  • Patent number: 9572439
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a novel system, device, and method for providing a sleeping bag with an integrated ground mat that provides thermal comfort by effectively retaining heat and is lightweight, compact, and easily packed for transport or storage. The sleeping bag with integrated air mattress allows the user to bring only one item that doubles as a sleeping bag and a ground mat. Additionally, the integrated ground mat remains positioned under the user while the user is sleeping. The sleeping bag may have an integrated ground mat, an inner shell, an outer shell, insulation between the inner and outer shells, an upper portion and a lower portion forming a sleeping cavity, an opening for access into the sleeping cavity, a draft tube, and a means for opening and closing the sleeping bag opening.
