Patent number: 11930293Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods redact one or more light-emitting screens in data recorded on a recording device. The redaction may include receiving recorded data comprising a plurality of pixel values. The redaction may include detecting one or more light-emitting screens in the received image. The redaction may include redacting a subset of the pixel values from the recorded associated with the one or more detected light-emitting screens. The redaction may be commonly applied to multiple frames of recorded data through the use of a unique identifier assigned to a same detected light-emitting screen. A same light-emitting screen may be tracked across multiple non-sequential or sequential frames and assigned a same unique identifier.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2021Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Axon Enterprise, Inc.Inventors: Anh Tuan Nguyen, Noah Spitzer-Williams, Jacob Hershfield

Publication number: 20230186918Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods transcribe words recorded in audio data. A computer-generated transcript is provided. The transcript comprises records for each word in the computer-generated transcript. At least one confirmation input is received for each record. The at least one confirmation input modifies a selected record and automatically identifies a next record for receiving a next confirmation input. A sequence of confirmation inputs may rapidly modify and validate each record in a sequence of records in the computer-generated transcript. A validated transcript is generated from the modified records and is provided from an evidence management system.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2023Publication date: June 15, 2023Inventors: Noah SPITZER-WILLIAMS, Choongyeun CHO, Thomas CROSLEY, Zachary GOIST, Daniel BELLIA, Vinh NGUYEN, Chelsea ALEXANDER-TAYLOR

Publication number: 20230074279Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for audio transcription are described. Audio data may be obtained from multiple recording devices at or near a scene. Audio data from multiple recording devices may be used to generate a final transcription. For example, when transcribing audio data from one recording device, audio data from another recording device may be used to generate the final transcript. The data from the second recording device may be used when it is determined that the recording devices were in proximity at the time the relevant portions of audio data were recorded and/or when a portion of the audio from the second recording device is verified to correspond with a portion of the audio from the first recording device. In some examples, data from the second recording device may be used when data from the first recording device is determined to be of low quality.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2022Publication date: March 9, 2023Applicant: Axon Enterprise, Inc.Inventors: Noah Spitzer-Williams, Thomas Crosley, Choongyeun Cho, James Reitz

Publication number: 20120263430Abstract: Video highlights are captured from a video stream during a video recording session of activity in which manual inputs to the camera would be difficult, impossible, or inconvenient for the user. The user provides a software-recognizable signal to the camera, such as by covering the camera lens for a brief time, shouting a high pitched tone or a recognizable word, or making a specific hand gesture in front of the lens that is software-recognizable. Using a programmed computer, the user searches for and locates any bookmarks or flags in the video stream of the activity, and copies to a highlight file a video highlight clip for each event of interest. Such a highlight clip can be, for example, thirty seconds of video up until and including the time of the bookmark. The user can then review only the highlight video clips, rather than the entire video sequence.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2012Publication date: October 18, 2012Inventor: Noah Spitzer-Williams

Patent number: 8005856Abstract: A list of media, such as image media, is dynamically generated and provided to a user. The dynamically generated media playlist may be associated with a user's “favorite pictures,” “favorite music” or some other type of media. Each of the “favorite media” features may be associated with playlist criteria, which is used to dynamically construct a query for media files to include on the playlist. The criteria may specify several requirements for including media in the dynamically created playlist, for example user rating, recently added media, and other criteria. The query is sent to a database, which returns a playlist of media. The returned playlist is provided to a media center, which retrieves and provides the listed media to a user.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2008Date of Patent: August 23, 2011Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Noah Spitzer-Williams, Ryan D'Aurelio, Jennifer Waters, Mark Mackenzie, Steve Moreland, Marc Oshiro
