  • Patent number: 12597303
Abstract: An impact monitoring system for a vehicle includes data processing hardware and memory hardware in communication with the data processing hardware. The memory hardware stores instructions that when executed on the data processing hardware cause the data processing hardware to perform operations. The operations performed by the data processing hardware include receiving sensor data from a plurality of sensors disposed along the vehicle and identifying an impact event based on the sensor data. The sensor data and the identified impact event are compared with a series of impact thresholds, and an impact score is determined based on the comparison of the sensor data and the identified impact event with the series of impact thresholds. The impact score is compared with an impact score hierarchy, the impact score hierarchy corresponding to the series of impact thresholds, and the impact event is monitored using updated sensor data.

  • Patent number: 12559059
Abstract: A safety equipment monitoring system for a vehicle includes a vehicle processor for storing vehicle data including one or more of vehicle event data, vehicle occupant data, and restraint system data. The safety equipment monitoring system also includes a server communicatively coupled with the vehicle processor and configured to determine a baseline desired location of a restraint based on the vehicle occupant data and the restraint system data. • Patent number: 12361830
Abstract: A vehicle has been proposed that is equipped with a processing system coupled to different sensors that may anticipate and mitigate risks leading to vehicle-pedestrian incidents. In some aspects, the processing system identifies, using a plurality of sensors and external vehicle sources over a wireless network, data elements indicating that the vehicle is a potential hazard to a pedestrian. Using the elements, the processing system may determine values of a pedestrian hazard level (PHL) that correspond to successively increasing risks. Where the PHL meets a threshold, the system may employ countermeasures to proactively mitigate the risks of pedestrian incidents.

  • Publication number: 20250145112
Abstract: A vehicle includes ignition controls operable between an active state and an inactive state and a storage compartment operable between a locked state and an unlocked state. An electronic control unit (ECU) is configured to detect one of the active state and the inactive state of the ignition controls and includes data processing hardware and memory hardware that stores a security monitoring system. The security monitoring system includes an alarm and a security monitoring application that is configured to execute a delay mode including a tiered proactive measure. The delay mode is configured to delay translation of the storage compartment from the locked state to the unlocked state in response to a security event.

  • Publication number: 20240362955
Abstract: An interaction monitoring system for a subject vehicle includes: a spatial monitoring system including a video camera, a microphone, and an audio speaker; a telematics system; a vehicle monitoring system; and a controller. The controller includes an instruction set that is executable to periodically determine, via the vehicle monitoring system, operating parameters for the subject vehicle, and detect occurrence of a vehicle stopping event being commanded by a security person. The operating parameters are captured for a predetermined period of time immediately preceding the vehicle stopping event. During the stopping event, the video camera and the microphone monitor an interaction between a vehicle operator and the security person. The interaction between the vehicle operator and the security person is evaluated, and a third-party advisor is engaged based upon the interaction between the vehicle operator and the security person.
