Patent number: 10219935Abstract: A device reduces breathing obstructions of a user. A base member removably couples to the upper or lower jaw of the user. An elastic support member couples to the base member and includes at least one contact surface for contacting at least one region of tissue. The elastic support member moves between a retracted state and a deployed state. In the retracted state, the at least one contact surface spatially separates from the at least one region of tissue. In the deployed state, at least a portion of the elastic support member extends such that the at least one contact surface contacts the at least one region of tissue preventing at least partial collapse of at least a section of the upper airway. A control unit actuates an electro-mechanical drive arrangement to move the elastic support member between the retracted and deployed states.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2016Date of Patent: March 5, 2019Assignee: THOMAS MEDICAL LTD.Inventor: Noam Hadas

The system includes a base plate, a first nozzle, a second nozzle, and a curing agent. The first nozzle can be configured to form a base layer of an object on the base plate and to form a contour of a second layer of the object on the base layer with a first material. The contour defines a volume within the second layer. The second nozzle can be configured to at least partially fill the volume within the second layer with a second material. The contour of the second layer and the second material form the second layer. The curing agent can be configured to solidify the second material.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2014Date of Patent: April 10, 2018Assignee: EMPIRE TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT LLCInventor: Noam Hadas

Publication number: 20180064392Abstract: Technologies are generally described for detection of foot edema through in-shoe pressure sensors and analysis of detected pressure values. Multiple pressure sensors may be employed in contact with a foot. The pressure sensors may detect pressure generated on a surface of the foot by fluid accumulation within cells of the foot. A change in pressure may be monitored by analyzing pressure values received from the pressure sensors. In some embodiments, a pressure rebound curve may be determined while monitoring the change in the pressure. A comparison between a newly acquired pressure rebound curve and an established-normal pressure rebound curve corresponding to a healthy foot may be made. If the pressure rebound curve is determined to indicate a slower change (rebound) in detected pressure than a change in pressure indicated by the normal pressure rebound curve, the presence of foot edema may be inferred.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2016Publication date: March 8, 2018Applicant: EMPIRE TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT LLCInventors: Shmuel Ur, Noam Hadas

Patent number: 9390682Abstract: Methods and systems effective to implement adjusting of display intensity are described. In some examples, a processor may receive display instructions. The display instructions may include instructions that relate to display of first output data. The first output data may be effective to produce a first intensity when rendered by a display. The processor may apply a technique at a first level to the display instructions to generate second output data. The second output data may be effective to produce a second intensity when rendered by the display. The second intensity may be less than the first intensity. The processor may apply the technique at a second level to the display instructions to generate third output data. The third output data may be effective to produce a third intensity when rendered by the display. The third intensity may be less than the second intensity.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2013Date of Patent: July 12, 2016Assignee: Empire Technology Development LLCInventor: Noam Hadas

Patent number: 6368287Abstract: This invention is a method, and device, suitable for use without professional medical supervision, for screening for sleep apnea. All elements of the device are housed in a small, flexible, plastic housing which is placed on the user's philtrum. A thermistor acquires data describing the respiratory pattern. A processor analyzes the respiratory pattern in real time and outputs a study result, describing the occurrence of any episodes of apnea, to a non-volatile colored marker on the plastic housing. A flashing LED display informs the user when placement of the device is appropriate. A lithium battery, which powers all elements of the device, is activated by a pull-tab removed by the user.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2000Date of Patent: April 9, 2002Assignee: S.L.P.
