  • Patent number: 10595786
Abstract: Embodiments include a method and system for providing data to a user of a wearable sensor platform. The method may be performed by a least one software component executing on at least one processor. The method includes capturing data for the user using at least one sensor in the wearable sensor platform. The data includes physiological data and artifact data. The physiological data includes noise data therein. A confidence indicator for the data is determined based on at least one of the physiological data and the artifact data. A physiological data signal corresponding to the physiological data and the confidence indicator is provided to the user on the wearable device platform.

  • Patent number: 9570046
Abstract: An approach is provided for rendering content based on chunks and layers. A request is received to render content at a device. One or more layers of the content are determined. One or more patterns are determined corresponding to one or more of the layers. One or more chunks are determined based, at least in part, on the one or more patterns. At least one of the layers and corresponding one or more chunks are determined to be rendered separately from the other layers.

  • Patent number: 9408077
Abstract: A method and apparatus for multimodal communication device capable of automatically determining an optimal communication mode. A user input selecting one of a contact and a stored communication is received, wherein each of the contact and the stored communication is associated with a destination. An optimal global communication mode to use for communicating with the destination is automatically determined from a plurality of communication modes. The destination is communicated with using the optimal global communication mode if a predefined condition is satisfied.

  • Publication number: 20150163279
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer program product are described for allowing a user to transfer content between web services, so as to allow the communication of content directly from one service to another, without needing to rely on a backend connection or the manual downloading and uploading of the content to and from a local device performed by the user. Rather, the user may be able to initiate the transfer of content between services through interaction with a user agent, such as a web browser used by the user to access web content. Thus, at the request of the user, content that was previously accessible through one website may be shared with another website through a “side-loading” type of operation.

  • Publication number: 20140129860
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to enable an application in an HTML5 runtime to listen to background servers and wait for events, even if the power savings mode is on. In the context of a method, a share worker application, comprising an event listener, is launched and the operating system is notified not to pause the shared worker application in the power savings mode. In response to a triggering event, the shared worker application may wake up the full system or may wake up only the main execution of JavaScript and a specific action caused by JavaScript while other power savings actions continue. The method may also cause performance of the specific action, such as an audio alert.
