  • Publication number: 20230327933
Abstract: In a wireless communication system, a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) may affect the efficiency of a power amplifier. To reduce a PAPR, a transmitting device may utilize a PAPR reduction precoding that changes a received signal without performance impact so the overall transmit PAPR is reduced. The transmitting device constructs a frequency domain (FD) response to the PAPR reduction precoding, estimates a channel to one or more receiving devices, and applies the PAPR reduction precoding to the estimated channel. The transmitting device constructs a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) precoding matrix considering the FD response of the PAPR reduction precoding and applies the MIMO precoding matrix and the PAPR reduction precoding to an FD signal. A receiving device applies the FD response conjugated to a received FD signal from the transmitting device and processes at least a received reference signal based on the PAPR reduction precoder.

  • Patent number: 11750308
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station (BS) may determine a first planned transmit beam configuration of the first BS. The BS may obtain a second planned transmit beam configuration of a second BS. • Publication number: 20230262643
Abstract: Techniques are provided for reporting, by a device, positioning-related information to a network entity. In an example, the device receives signaling information of the network entity. The signaling information indicates one or more parameters for a report on a reference signal that is transmitted by a base station. The device also receives multiple propagations of the reference signal upon a transmission of the reference signal by the base station. Based on the signaling information, the device generates the report, where the report comprises a power and a time delay per propagation of the reference signal. The device transmits the report to the network entity, where a position of the device is determined by the network entity based on the report.

  • Patent number: 11729038
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may reduce a channel overhead of a peak suppression information message (PSIM) by reducing amplitude signaling of clipped peaks of a data signal. To avoid including amplitude information for each clipped peak of a time-domain data signal in a PSIM, the transmitting device may subtract a constant amplitude offset from each peak above a clipping threshold in the time-domain data signal. The transmitting device may indicate the amplitude offset in the PSIM, and a receiving device may reconstruct the data message based on the amplitude offset. In some examples, the transmitting device may indicate a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) in the PSIM, such as a PAPR of a maximum peak in the data signal. Based on the indicated PAPR, the receiving device may perform a calculation to determine the amplitude offset for reconstructing the data message.

  • Patent number: 11689343
Abstract: A base station may multiplex a peak suppression information message (PSIM) on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) with data for efficient implementation of PSIMs for peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction. A base station may clip peaks from a signal to be transmitted and capture information of the clipped peaks into a PSIM. The base station may then multiplex the PSIM on the PDSCH such that a receiving device (for example, a user equipment (UE)) may receive the signal and reconstruct the signal (for example, PDSCH data) using the PSIM. According to some aspects, each PDSCH symbol may include a PSIM for a previous PDSCH symbol, or the PSIM may be for the current symbol. Various aspects of the techniques described herein may further provide for PSIM positioning in frequency, PSIM modulation, PSIM channel coding, PSIM multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) configurations, among other examples.

  • Patent number: 11563615
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or base station) may reduce a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) by clipping signals transmitted to a receiving device according to a clipping level. The receiving device may receive, from the transmitting device, an indication of the clipping level associated with a reference signal. The receiving device may receive the reference signal and identify distortions based on the clipping level. The receiving device may iteratively reconstruct peaks of the clipped reference signal until the receiving device is able to obtain accurate pilot symbols for use in channel estimation. The techniques described herein may enable receiving devices to improve efficiency and reliability of communications by improving channel estimation, which may increase the probability of successfully decoding transmitted information.

  • Patent number: 11539565
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for reducing PAPR in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to suppressing the amplitudes of a data signal that exceed a threshold amplitude level. The data signal may represent transmit (TX) data associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process. In some implementations, a transmitting device may detect one or more peaks associated with the data signal. The transmitting device may reduce the amplitudes of the samples associated with the detected peaks to produce the amplitude-suppressed data signal. The transmitting device may further generate peak suppression information indicating the amplitudes of one or more of the samples associated with the peaks. In response to receiving a NACK message, the transmitting device may transmit, to the receiving device, the peak suppression information, one or more coded bits representing the TX data (associated with the HARQ process), or any combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 11496189
Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. A communication device may support processing digital post distortion using additional references symbols. For example, the communication device may precode a signal including at least two reference symbols for a single-layer transmission using at least two antenna ports. At least one reference symbol of the at least two reference symbols is associated with at least one data symbol of a data stream. The communication device may estimate, based on the at least two reference symbols, a nonlinearity model of at least two power amplifiers associated with the single-layer transmission, and determine an estimate of a nonlinearity factor of the precoded signal based on the estimated nonlinearity model. As a result, the communication device may eliminate or reduce the nonlinear factor of the precoded signal based on the estimated nonlinearity model of the at least two power amplifiers and the estimated channel impulse response.

  • Patent number: 11431538
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a receiving device (e.g., a UE) may transmit, to a transmitting device (e.g., a base station), a capability indicator indicating a capability of the receiving device to perform peak reconstruction using soft metrics (e.g., expected value, covariance) on symbol decisions. The receiving device may receive, from the transmitting device and based on the capability indicator, control signaling indicating a clipping level applied to generate a signal and a subset of peaks clipped from the signal. The receiving device may receive the signal generated in accordance with the control signaling from the transmitting device and may decode a reconstructed signal based on performing the peak reconstruction on the signal using the soft metrics on symbol decisions, the clipping level, and the subset of the peaks clipped from the signal.
