  • Patent number: 4487328
Abstract: A blow molded container case has a main body portion, a lid and a lid hinge which pivotally mounts the lid to the main body portion. The main body portion includes top and bottom walls and side walls interposed between the top and bottom walls and interconnected thereto at corresponding peripheral edge portions thereof. The top wall has formed therein an opening for access to the interior of the main body portion. The opening is spaced inwardly from the periphery of the top wall. A portion of the top wall surrounding the opening is shaped to form a well to closely receive the lid. The lid receiving well includes an inner wall projecting downwardly from the top wall of the main body portion, a seat portion projecting inwardly from the inner wall and a rim extending downwardly from the seat portion.

  • Patent number: 4380293
Abstract: A blow molded display package and case has a plastic base including upper and lower spaced walls and a peripheral side therebetween with the upper wall having a plurality of depressions or recesses formed therein separated by surface portions lying in a common plane. The depressions have a predetermined configuration selected according to the configuration of objects to be placed therein such that the objects extend above the depressions no further than the plane of the support surface portions. A transparent cover plate overlies the upper wall and is supported on the support surface portions against the objects in the recesses to retain the objects therein. The upper wall of the base also includes at least one frustro-conical depression formed therein having a base portion sealed to the lower wall of the base and a key hole shaped knock-out formed therein, thereby to rigidify the base while providing means for mounting the case on a wall.

  • Patent number: 4343412
Abstract: A blow molded carrying case having a base and a cover for the base is provided with an improved hinge construction in which a pair of oppositely directed hinge pins formed on the cover are received in a pair of spaced hinge pin receiving bosses formed in the base. These bosses receive and partly surround the pins, while a locking strap associated with each of the bosses is secured to the base and has an intermediate portion overlying the pins to trap the same in the recesses of the base.

  • Patent number: 4340140
Abstract: The disclosed package consists of a base having sidewalls defining a top opening providing access to the interior of the package and a flat flexible cover substantially complementary to the opening. The sidewalls have top edges, with the top edge of one wall located below the top edges of the other sidewalls. The base includes shoulders for supporting the cover below the top edge of the shorter of the sidewalls; and flanges or extensions project from the top edges of the other three walls to resist upward movement of the cover relative to the base while permitting the cover to be placed on the base by a sliding movement.

  • Patent number: 4340139
Abstract: A blow molded carrying case comprises a base and a cover, each of which is formed of double walled blow molded construction. The top wall of the base extends along the rear wall and has an opening formed therein along the front wall, whereby access is provided to the interior of the base below the top wall, which in turn defines a shelf in the base. The cover has side walls which are generally complementary in plan to the side walls of the base. The cover and base have first cooperating means which define an interrupted hinge for pivotally connecting the cover to the base and second cooperating means for latching the cover to the base in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 4028041
Abstract: A compact, washable potter's wheel comprising three separate units, a casing, a motor housing and a turntable assembly. The motor housing and turntable assembly are removably mounted on the casing. A motor is mounted within the housing and has a shaft projecting outwardly therefrom. The turntable assembly includes a turntable having a peripheral rim and a bearing assembly which rotatably supports the turntable. A leaf spring secured to the motor housing contacts a wall of the casing to urge the housing to a first position in which the motor shaft contacts the turntable rim. In this position, the turntable is driven by the motor. A cam member mounted on the motor housing slideably engages the casing wall to urge the housing to a second position in which the motor shaft is spaced apart from the turntable rim. In this position, the turntable may be manually rotated as a lazy susan.
