  • Patent number: 4993763
Abstract: A door inside handle device, typically for a vehicle door, having a base plate, an opening handle rotatably mounted on the base plate, and a locking knob rotatably mounted on the base plate above an upper portion of the opening handle, includes a circular hole and an arcuate-shaped elongated hole or slot formed on an upper surface of the locking knob, a first hinge pin of the opening handle penetrating the slot, a second hinge pin of the locking knob penetrating the circular hole, and a hinge center or axis of the locking knob located offset from a hinge center or axis of the opening handle in a direction opposite to the direction of force applicable to the opening handle. The device includes a spring for biasing the opening handle to a certain position with respect to the baseplate. The handle and knob outer surfaces, farthest into interior vehicle space, are substantially flush with one another.

  • Patent number: 4956983
Abstract: A locking apparatus with a key comprising a cylindrical body, a cylindrical operation member mounted inside the body, a first spring for returning the operation member to an original position, a key rotor mounted inside the operation member, a second spring for urging the key rotor to rotate to an original position, a limiting member provided in the key rotor, a third spring for urging the limiting member to project outwardly from the key rotor, an engagement portion disposed in the body, the engagement portion being engaged with the limiting member projected outwardly by the third spring when the operation member is pushed inwardly by a predetermined stroke along the axis against the first spring by a manual operation, and a disengagement portion provide in the body, the disengagement portion unlocking the limiting member from the engagement portion thereby returning the operation member and the key rotor to original positions under the elastic forces of the first and second springs in response to rotation o

  • Patent number: 4722565
Abstract: A tilt-slide type sunroof of a motor vehicle having a sliding panel for opening or closing a roof opening formed in a roof panel. A housing is provided below the roof panel and separated therefrom, having a housing opening corresponding to the roof opening, and forming a space disposed rearwardly of the roof opening, capable of receiving the sliding panel in cooperation with the roof panel. A shade is provided on the sliding panel for covering the housing opening from above when the roof opening is closed by the sliding panel. The shade is constructed such that an intermediate portion in the longitudinal direction of the shade is made displaceable upward from the housing opening higher than a rear end portion of said shade, the length of the shade is such that when the intermediate portion of the shade is displaced upward, the rear end of the shade is positioned in the space.

  • Patent number: 4662672
Abstract: A locking device for a detachable panel fitted in a roof opening of automobiles comprises a pivotable lever mounted to the panel, a stationary body fixed to the vehicle roof, and a link mechanism securely fixed to the lever while pivoted to the stationary body. The link mechanism includes a pair of links each provided with a recess while the stationary body includes a pair of arms each provided with a pin resiliently urged to fit in the recess to lock the position of the panel at the partially open state. The recess includes two lateral edges one of which extends higher than the other other to act as the stopper of the pin, to thereby limit excessive rotational movement of the panel with respect to the stationary body.

  • Patent number: 4422689
Abstract: A locking device comprises a lever pivotally mounted to a panel which is detachably fitted in a roof opening of automotive vehicles, a stationary body fixed to the vehicle roof and provided with a pair of parallel arms each having a hole therein, and a link mechanism including a stationary bracket fixed to the lever, a pair of links pivoted to the bracket and each having a pin for fitting in the hole in the arm and a spring interposed between the links to urge the links to move in opposite directions. The resilient engagement of the pins of the mechanism with the holes in the arms of the stationary body will avoid any rattle caused between the detachable panel and the vehicle roof.
