  • Publication number: 20150002580
Abstract: When recording is performed using two different types of inks, the ink discharge order is controlled in a unit region on a recording medium so that the number of pixel regions in which an ink having a relatively high pH buffer capacity in a basic region is applied later is larger than the number of pixel regions in which an ink having a relatively low pH buffer capacity in a basic region is applied later.

  • Patent number: 8444240
Abstract: Processing liquid is ejected by a scan which is as prior as possible to the ink if it is determined that the printing duty of the ink is relatively low. Furthermore, the processing liquid is ejected by a scan which is as posterior as possible to the ink if it is determined that the printing duty of the ink is relatively high. Accordingly, the change of the glossiness can be suppressed regardless of the change of the printing duty of the ink. At the same time, it becomes possible to adjust the glossiness with a minimum necessary amount of processing liquid since the glossiness is adjusted not by varying the amount of the processing liquid depending on the printing duty of the ink, but by varying the printing order.

  • Patent number: 8091975
Abstract: One or more scans used to apply a specific ink are varied according to the overlapping conditions of the specific ink and a non-specific ink, and bias in the specific ink nozzle usage frequency and bias in the printing ratio among passes is suppressed. For this purpose, one or more scans used to apply the specific ink are determined on the basis of applying amount information for the specific ink and the non-specific ink. For example, the one or more scans used to apply the specific ink are determined such that the ratio of specific ink applied by the last half of plural scans is greater for a unit pixel whose application ratio of non-specific ink to specific ink is greater than a predetermined ratio than for a unit pixel whose application ratio of non-specific ink to the specific ink is less than the predetermined ratio.

  • Patent number: 8083337
Abstract: The present invention provides an ink jet printing apparatus, an ink jet printing method, a data generation apparatus, a computer program, and an ink jet printing system by which a timing for ejecting a processing liquid can be changed to improve image performance of a printed image such as abrasion resistance, to provide the printing head with a longer life, and to improve a throughput. The processing liquid is ejected to a predetermined area on a printing medium, for which a formation of an image by ink is completed, in two or more scannings among five scannings of the printing head. When an amount of ejection data for ejecting the processing liquid in the fifth scanning for ejecting only the processing liquid is equal to or lower than a predetermined amount, the fifth scanning is not carried out.

  • Publication number: 20100328388
Abstract: The present invention ejects a treatment liquid at a scan before a scan where ink is ejected and reduces variations in a time interval from a point of the ejection of the treatment liquid to a point of the ejection of the ink, thereby enabling an increase in image performance, and longevity, low costs and reduction in size of the print head. For achieving this object, the present invention includes a treatment liquid ejection data generating unit configured to generate the treatment liquid ejection data for ejecting the treatment liquid from the print head to the unit area before the formation of the image by the ink starts. The treatment liquid ejection data generating unit generates the treatment liquid ejection data in such a manner as to eject the treatment liquid at the plural times of the scans of the print head.

  • Patent number: 7776436
Abstract: A hardcoat for a plastic substrate film is provided which has good suitability for printing and satisfactory hardness, can prevent influence of the deformation of a plastic substrate film from extending to the hardcoat, and is resistant to cracking and peeling. The hardcoat is produced from a coating component containing one or more organic components having a polymerizable functional group and an inorganic filler, at least one of the organic components being free from a hydrogen bond-forming group. In the hard coat, the content of the inorganic filler in the surface of the hardcoat is higher than that in the interior of the hardcoat. The hardcoat can be applied to antireflection films and hologram labels.
