  • Publication number: 20060061789
Abstract: At a timing of opening properties of a printer driver, a terminal device sends an inquiry to a connected printer. The terminal device receives a response from the printer and executes comparison of the versions of the printer driver. If the version that is received from the printer is the later one, the terminal device causes a display unit to display a message that prompts update. If “UPDATE” is selected, the terminal device updates the printer driver using the printer driver that is stored in the printer.

  • Publication number: 20050128535
Abstract: A first scan unit sequentially transports and scans documents from a document tray, and a second scan unit scans a document placed on a glass plane. A first select unit selects the first or second scan unit according to a predetermined rule when a start instruction is accepted. An accept unit accepts a change instruction, a continue instruction or a print instruction after the first scan unit scans all documents from the document tray or the second scan unit scans the document placed on the glass plane. A second select unit selects the first or second scan unit according to the predetermined rule when the continue instruction is accepted. A storage unit stores new image data provided by the first or second scan unit corresponding to an additional document until the print instruction is accepted. Then, a print unit prints image data stored in the storage unit during a period starting from when the start instruction is accepted and ending when the print instruction is accepted.

  • Patent number: 6862116
Abstract: An image sensor scans a document which is transported by an image sensor drive mechanism section and is placed on a document glass plane. At this time, an ADF scan operation is performed when a document transport mechanism section is used for transporting documents. Otherwise, a manual-feed scan operation is performed. A CPU accepts a specification whether to scan the next document each time an ADF or manual-feed scan operation terminates. When an operation to scan the next document is specified, the ADF or manual-feed scan operation is performed. The ADF or manual-feed scan operation generates image data until a specification is issued to complete document scanning. The CPU uses image memory to store the generated image data corresponding to each page in a series of documents arranged in the order of scanning.

  • Patent number: 6709704
Abstract: A method of sealing the cells of a ceramic honeycomb body (5) and a cell sealing material (1) are disclosed which can suppress the deformation and dissolution of the portions of the ceramic honeycomb body dipped in the cell sealing material. An end surface (50) of the ceramic honeycomb body (5), with the portions of the end surface (50) not to be sealed covered with a masking material, is dipped in the cell sealing material (1) thereby to seal the cells in a predetermined part of the end surface. The cell sealing material (1) is composed of ceramic particles and an assistant for fluidizing the ceramic particles. The assistant has the property of not substantially redissolving a binder contained in the ceramic honeycomb body.

  • Publication number: 20010043367
Abstract: A document reading device includes a reading unit for reading an image of a document, a document size detector for detecting a size of the document, and a controller for controlling the reading unit to read the image of the document in a read size corresponding to the document size confirmed from a detection result of the document size detector. Particularly, the controller includes an operation panel for inputting and outputting various information, and a CPU for requesting designation of a document size via the operation panel when the document size is not confirmable from a detection result of the document size detector and specifying the read size corresponding to the document size which is designated via the operation panel according to the request.

  • Patent number: 5815770
Abstract: When an interruption key is once depressed during a printing operation to instruct an interruption, an interruption flag is turned on to perform a delay interruption process. If the interruption key is depressed once again while the interruption flag is turned on (i.e. a delay interruption is awaited), an urgent interruption is determined and an interruption copying process is immediately performed.

  • Patent number: 4969143
Abstract: An information recording medium is disclosed including a first disc having opposite side surfaces and a second disc having opposite side surfaces, coaxially positioned adjacent the first disc. A first spacing member is positioned between the first and second discs for fixedly connecting the first and second discs together to form an air space between the facing surfaces of the first and second discs. A recording layer is formed on a facing surface of one of the first and second discs in the air space between the discs. The recording layer includes a pre-formatted data recording area having recorded pre-formatted data thereon. A second spacing member is aligned with the surface of the pre-formatted data recording area for bonding the pre-formatted data recording area of the recording layer to the facing surface of the other of the first and second discs.
