Abstract: According to the method of the present invention, when the package is supplied to the winder while being fitted on the tray, a yarn end released from the package is processed to be positioned at substantially central portion of one end face of the package from which the yarn is drawn, and then the package is fed at the predetermined winding position of the winder. The yarn end which is positioned at the central portion of the end face of the package may be wound around the extremity end of a peg of the tray or a head part of a take-up tube of the package by several times and the such processed package is fed to a rewinding step.

Abstract: A yarn end finding apparatus having a vertically movable hollow member which can be raised to allow positioning of a bobbin thereunder and then lowered onto the bobbin. The hollow member includes a device for releasing the end of the yarn from the bobbin. A vertical flow of air through the hollow member directs the released yarn away from the bobbin past a yarn clamping device and a blade which cuts the yarn at a predetermined distance from the clamping device. A reverse flow of air directs the remaining length of yarn into the hollow bobbin core for subsequent processing.

Abstract: Improvements in a cop supplying apparatus comprising a cop supplying truck which runs along individual winding units of an automatic winding machine and feeds cops into magazines of the winding units without stopping. The cop supplying truck is provided with a guide and a pair of rollers for positively feeding the yarn end which is arranged under a long hole for placing cops through so that the yarn end of the cop held on a cop container is positively taken off from the cop container.
