  • Publication number: 20060272391
Abstract: A vehicle speed calculating section calculates the vehicle velocity by integration of a forward and reverse acceleration of a vehicle. A first deforming speed calculating section calculates a first deforming speed by integration of acceleration from a first acceleration sensor. A second deforming speed calculating section calculates a second deforming speed by integration of acceleration from a second acceleration sensor. A first deforming speed correcting section subtracts a vehicle speed from the first deforming speed and outputs it to a determining section. A second deforming speed correcting section subtracts the vehicle speed from the second deforming speed and outputs it to the determining section. In the determining section, the collision object determination is made on the basis of the corrected deforming speed.

  • Publication number: 20050155436
Abstract: Reinforcing rings are provided around the cylindrical outer surface of a stator can of a canned motor, near the front and rear ends of a stator of the canned motor respectively. An axial position detecting coil A is wound around the cylindrical outer surface of at least one of the reinforcing rings. The axial position of a rotor is detected by an inductance of the axial position detecting coil A. The axial position detecting coil A is installed by winding a coil around at least one of the reinforcing rings. The invention reduces the influence exerted by change in the radial position of the rotor on the output to the axial position detecting coil A to a negligible level and enables detection of the axial position of the rotor and axial zero adjustment without the necessity of considering change in the radial position of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 6558010
Abstract: An attaching part of a reflecting mirror is fixed to a guardrail of a road. A solar cell device of a solar-powered light emitter accumulates electricity produce by sunlight of the daytime, and a light emitting diode emits light at nighttime. When a front panel is irradiated with light from a headlight of an automobile running at nighttime, the light is reflected off a diamond cut of a rear surface, in particular, then the light is reflected off the surface of an inner panel on which reflecting surface work is made, and the reflected light is irregularly reflected by the diamond cut surface, thereby functioning as a driving sign in combination with the emitted light from the light emitting diode. Dirt adhered to the front surface of the front panel peels off because of a self purification effect of titanium oxide on the front surface.

  • Patent number: 6199924
Abstract: An impact energy absorption structure for a vehicle, comprises left and right front frames having a closed section; left and right L-shaped stay members connected at a lower end thereof with the left and right front frames respectively and having left and right upper ends projected upward above the left and right front frame; and a bent member curved convexly in the forward direction of the vehicle and transversely connected at left and right ends thereof with the left and right upper ends respectively. The impact energy absorption structure is accommodated within a small space between the front bumper and the front end of the front frame and particularly it is suitable for vehicles having a short front over hang such as one box cars. As a result, at the event of a small collision, the impact energy is absorbed by the deformation of the impact energy absorption structure without operating an air bag.

  • Patent number: 5297134
Abstract: A transmission system formed by a master station and a plurality of satellite stations which are connected by a transmission line into a loop, the data and command signals from the master station being passed sequentially from station to station around the loop. A failure in a satellite station that prevents further loop transmission is detected by watchdog timers in one or more successive stations. As a result, the stations detecting the failure switch themselves into a bus-mode of operation, the master station switches itself and the remaining stations into the bus-mode of operation. The switching back to the loop-mode of operation can be performed under control of the master station automatically, upon detection that the failure has been corrected. The switching also can be performed under external command.

  • Patent number: 5285354
Abstract: A controller base unit for a DIN-standard installation wherein a molded base is provided with an internal chassis for support and a contour that permits the direct and releasable attachment of the unit to a DIN rail via a plurality of hooks that are simultaneously moveable between an engaged and non-engaged position. The base is provided with a recess in a planar face thereof for accommodating a printed circuit board and has fixed tabs along the periphery of the recess. The circuit board has cut-outs that mate with the tabs for insertion of the board into the recess and is slidable laterally into a position where the tabs secure the board against the surface of the recess and a screw or the like can secure the board against further lateral movement. The board has at both ends thereof a pair of connectors that are connectable with either end of a separate similarly designed board via a cable.

  • Patent number: 4317675
Abstract: A magnetic metallic powder comprising iron or iron-cobalt as its fundamental component and, besides, molybdenum in an amount of 0.05 to 5% by weight of the fundamental component. The magnetic powder is produced by heat reduction of a molybdenum-doped iron oxide powder which may optionally contain cobalt. The presence of molybdenum suppresses agglomeration of the heated particles and produces an improvement on the coercive force of the metallic powder.
