  • Patent number: 6167020
Abstract: An electronic apparatus such as a disc changer, including a moving unit, locking mechanism, output unit and a control unit is provided. The moving unit is provided movably in relation to the enclosure. The locking mechanism locks the moving unit against dislocation in relation to the enclosure, and also the moving unit against dislocation from its initial position. The output unit issues an alarm. The control unit judges whether the moving unit stays at its initial position for more than a predetermined time, and controls the output unit to issue an alarm when the result of the judgement is such that the moving unit stays at the initial position for more than the predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 6147950
Abstract: A turntable is a table mounted to a shaft (4) of a spindle motor and the turntable supports a laminated disc thereon and drives the disc in rotation. The laminated disc includes a lower disc and an upper disc stacked on the lower disc, and is supported on a disc-supporting surface. When the disc is loaded on the turntable, a fitting member fits into the center hole of the laminated disc for centering the laminated disc with respect to the shaft. The fitting member fits the center hole of the lower disc when the laminated disc is supported on said disc-supporting surface. The turntable may include a tapered member which guides the laminated disc to the disc-supporting surface. The laminated disc includes lower and upper discs each having an edge which defines the center hole. The corners of the edges are cut away along a circumference of the center hole. The upper and lower discs are placed together so that the cut-away corner directly face each other.

  • Patent number: 5768222
Abstract: A reproducing apparatus for a disc-like recording medium in which administration information of recorded information is recorded together with the information has a stocking section, a reproducing section, a transferring mechanism, a memory and a controller. A plurality of disc-like recording media are stocked in the stocking section in a laminate fashion. The reproducing section reproduces the information and the administration information recorded in the disc-like recording medium. The transferring mechanism selectively picks up the disc-like medium from the stocking section and transfers the picked-up recording medium between the stocking section and the reproducing section and transfers the recording medium to an eject position from the reproducing apparatus. The memory stores the administration information of the recording medium read out or reproduced by the reproducing section and information concerning a reproduction order.

  • Patent number: 5544130
Abstract: An electronic equipment controlled by a plurality of operation buttons, for example, for reproducing audio signal of a disc player, an audio tape recorder, a tuner, or an amplifier, etc. provides control circuits. A plurality of operation buttons are composed of: basic operation buttons for basic action of the electronic equipment, such as starting or stopping reproducing of the reproducing unit of a recording medium, music selection, and tuner selection and switching volume adjusting operation of an amplifier; additional function buttons associated with basic operation, such as random reproducing of a reproducing unit of a recording medium, adjusting of equalizing characteristic, and switching adjusting operation of tone quality or sound field, etc.. The control circuits are provided in the electronic equipment, and in the normal operation mode, switches overall operation in response to operation of both basic action and additional function buttons.

  • Patent number: 5051971
Abstract: Program editing method and apparatus for an information recording medium playing apparatus for playing an information recording medium carrying a plurality of music pieces and playing time information representing a playing time required for playing each of the plurality of music pieces. The plurality of music pieces are selected in order and a computing process is executed for adding up the playing time of each of the selected music pieces. Then, a provisional combination is produced by editing the selected music pieces excluding one of the selected musical programs when the total playing time obtained by the computing process exceeds a time period previously designated. Furthermore, a combination whose total playing time is the nearest to but shorter than the designated time period is derived by alternately replacing each of the music pieces in the provisional combination with each of music pieces other than the music pieces in the provisional combination.

  • Patent number: 4939714
Abstract: A data reproducing method, such as may be used with a compact disk player or video disk player, in which data can be reproduced between any two designated points without disagreeable rapid cut-in or cut-off of the reproduced signal. During the reproduction of the disk in a first mode, address data for first and second positions is inputted. Then, in a second reproducing mode, the main data is faded in at the first position and faded out at the second position.

  • Patent number: 4916559
Abstract: A data reproducing method in which abrupt sound transitions as the end of a recorded tape is reached are eliminated. A predetermined time period corresponding to the length of the tape is inputted, and a time instant earlier by a predetermined period of time than the end of the time period at which the end of the tape is encountered is calculated. While plural pieces of music are being reproduced in a specified order for recording on the tape, a sum of the total time from the start of reproduction is iteratively calculated. When the sum reaches the calculated period of time, the total output level is gradually reduced to zero.
