  • Patent number: 4835641
Abstract: A magnetic disk apparatus including a disc drive assembly for driving a magnetic disc and a head supporting assembly for supporting a plurality of magnetic heads at predetermined relationships with respect to the magnetic disc for facilitating magnetic recording and reproducing thereon. The head supporting assembly comprises an actuator arm, a plurality of suspension arms, each having the magnetic head at one end thereof and connected to the actuator arm at the other end thereof, and a plurality of screws disposed through holes formed in the actuator arm and suspension arms for detachably connecting the suspension arms to the actuator arm. The screws are disposed in a staggered relationship with respect to each other in terms of the direction of access thereto and accessible for fastening and unfastening from two opposite sides in the direction substantially perpendicular to the disc surface.

  • Patent number: 4819110
Abstract: A head actuator for a disk drive is provided with a structural body integrally formed by a housing portion for rotatably supporting a moving part formed by a head for writing/reading data in/from a disk and a coil fixed therewith and a yoke portion for interlinking magnetic flux with the coil, which structural body is fixed to a base portion. By virtue of such structure, the resonance point of a vibration system of the head actuator can be increased in frequency thereby to stably and correctly locate the head on the disk. The structural body and base portion mount to each other on the surfaces which are substantially coplanar with the center of gravity and head arm direction of movement.

  • Patent number: 4772972
Abstract: A magnetic disc apparatus comprises a base, a disc driving assembly and a head positioning assembly. The head positioning assembly is provided at the bottom portion thereof with a fitting recess and the base is provided at a top surface thereof with a corresponding projection, which, when the head positioning assembly is correctly aligned, fits into the recess in the head positioning assembly. By fitting the fitting projection into the fitting recess, the head positioning assembly is automatically positioned accurately on the base in a predetermined relational position with respect to the disc driving assembly, whereby the pivot axis of the head positioning assembly is positioned in a predetermined positional relationship with respect of the center shaft of the disc driving assembly.
