  • Patent number: 6345561
Abstract: A wire measuring and cutting apparatus 1 is provided with an U-turn guide section 6 which serves to guide a wire W being fed into a guide passage 5b for bending the wire W in a substantially U-shaped manner. In the section 6, a movable guide part 5 is constituted by a pair of guide pieces 5a, 5a which are pivoted so as to open and close together. The U-turn guide section 6 is provided with a displacement mechanism 8. The mechanism 8 can maintain the pair of guide pieces 5a, 5a in the closed position. While, the mechanism 8 can displace the guide pieces 5a, 5a for the opened position together with feeding inertia of the wire W in process of measuring the length of the wire W. With this structure, the guide pieces 5a, 5a can be opened at high speed due to the feeding inertia in addition to the driving force of the mechanism 8 to open the pieces 5a, 5a and there is no need to stop feeding the wire W during the measurement of the wire W.

  • Patent number: 6239373
Abstract: An end structure for a shielding wire is provided with a covering part 20 for covering an end portion 18b of a braided wire 18. In arrangement, an end 19a of an outside insulating rind 19 is positioned so as to recede from an end 18a of the braided wire 18. The covering part 20 is welded to an inside insulating rind 17 in the vicinity of the end portion 18b of the braided wire 18. Owing to the provision of the covering part 20, it is possible to prevent the braided wire 18 from being loosen from the end portion 18b.

  • Patent number: 5351581
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for disposing a peeled-off chip of an electric cable, wherein a sheath of an electric cable is first cut by a pair of peeling blades in a state that one of the electric cable is firmly fixed, and then the peeling blades and/or said electric cable are moved in the axial direction of the electric cable so as to remove the peeled-off chip of the cable sheath, with a characteristic feature that the peeled-off chips which are attached to the pair of peeling blades after the cutting operation is completed are blown off by an ionized air. In order to realize the above-described method, the present invention is provided with an air ionizing means for ionizing the air to be blown against the peeled chips, which air ionizing means further comprising an electrification preventing means and an air ionizing nozzle which is connected to the electrification preventing means by way of a cable means.

  • Patent number: 5018269
Abstract: In the wire press-installing apparatus of this invention, the ram is lowered onto the joint block to press wires into rows of receiver terminals that are erected at specified pitches on the joint block of a wiring harness. The joint block is intermittently fed by a distance equal to the pitch of the terminal rows and only the predetermined wires are selectively taken out and seated into the associated rows of receiver terminals. This prevents wrong wires from being seated in unintended terminals or the joint block from being fed by a wrong pitch. The apparatus has a wire misinstallation detection mechanism, which consists of wire guides mounted vertically slidable on the lower front and back side of the vertically movable wire press-installing blade through a resilient member.
