  • Patent number: 4784580
Abstract: An airflow control system generates a compensating output which is combined with the normal damper control output in a damper operating device when a pole change motor driving a blower changes speed so that the damper is changed to compensate for the change in blower speed to avoid a large change in airflow. This overcomes the delay in the normal integrating damper control which produced unwanted fluctuation in airflow when the motor speed was changed.

  • Patent number: 4770340
Abstract: A boiler air flow controlling apparatus for feeding air in a desired air flow to a boiler by cooperation of a first fan for feeding air to the boiler with a second fan for sucking air from said boiler. The apparatus includes means for varying, when the number of poles of at least one of motors for the two fans is changed over, the opening of a damper located in an air course in order to restrict a variation of the inner pressure of the boiler upon such changing over to a value within an allowable range.

  • Patent number: 4720245
Abstract: The present invention relates to a flow rate control system in an apparatus for supplying and draining fluid such as air and water, etc. and particularly in a fluid suply and drain apparatus comprising a motor for driving fluid flowing apparatus such as a fan and a flow rate control device such as a damper which is capable of shielding the flow path. The number of the rotations of motor is controlled step by step in accordance with the flow rate of fluid flowing through a flowing path on the occasion of operating the motor with the variable frequency power supply of which the output frequency changes depending on a command request of the fluid flowing apparatus as a load, also controls the flow rate control device in accordance with deviation between the command request from the load and a staircase control input to the variable frequency power supply even when the flow rate changes minutely at each step.

  • Patent number: 4691156
Abstract: A variable frequency power unit controlling system for controlling a variable frequency power unit to supply an electric current of a frequency corresponding to a desired revolving rate of an electric motor. A control signal designating the revolving rate of the electric motor is integrated by an integrating circuit and the output frequency of the variable frequency power unit is held at a predetermined value regardless of the control signal, when the change rate of the output signal of the integrating circuit deviates from a predetermined range of change rate.

  • Patent number: 4651072
Abstract: The output frequency of a variable frequency power source for driving a motor which drives a rotary body such as a fan in a variable-speed control mode is fixed, when abnormality in a control signal supplied to the variable frequency power source from outside to determine the output frequency of the variable frequency power source is detected, at the output frequency of the variable frequency power source immediately before the detection of abnormality in the control signal, and thereby the abnormal variation of the revolving rate of the motor resulting from the abnormality in the control signal is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4644242
Abstract: A controlling system for a pole change electric motor of the type wherein the polarity of electric currents flowing through some of stator windings is changed to change the number of poles thereby to vary the rotational frequency of the motor. The system comprises a reactor which is connected, during running of the motor at a high speed, in series to a power circuit for supplying power to the motor, whereby the motor is driven by way of the reactor when the motor is changed over from a low to a high speed running.

  • Patent number: 4637296
Abstract: An air flow controlling apparatus for accomplishing blasting with a desired air flow by controlling an electric motor for a ventilator for feeding air for combustion to a boiler as well as a damper located in an air course. In order to control a temporary increase or decrease of an air flow due to a variation of a rotational frequency of the electric motor when power supply to the electric motor is changed over between a commercial power source and a variable frequency power source, the apparatus includes a preceding controlling signal generating means which regulates the opening of the damper for a period of time from a point of time at which a power source changing over instruction is received to another point of time at which an actual changing over operation is performed.

  • Patent number: 4589048
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a ground fault occurring in a power system which furnishes an AC power from a variable-voltage variable-frequency power supply to a load via a voltage transformer. The apparatus compares a zero phase sequence current with a reference value and, upon detection of occurrence of a ground fault, produces an output signal representing the ground fault. Prior to such comparison, the zero phase sequence current is so processed as to be independent of the frequency of the power system or the reference value is so processed as to be dependent on the said frequency.

  • Patent number: 4589046
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a ground fault in a power system which supplies an electric power whose frequency is varied while being kept at a predetermined ratio to the voltage thereof. In this apparatus, a zero phase sequence current (voltage) from such power system is introduced to a plurality of current (voltage) detectors having respective threshold values for current (voltage) level detection, while a voltage related to the frequency of the electric power is introduced to a plurality of frequency detectors having respective threshold values for frequency detection, and the output signals of the current (voltage) and frequency detectors are discriminated in accordance with predetermined logical condition, to produce a signal representative of a ground fault.
