  • Patent number: 5231891
Abstract: A change speed pedal mechanism for controlling a transmission of a working vehicle comprises a first pedal pivotable on an axis extending transversely of a vehicle body, and a second pedal disposed adjacent the first pedal and pivotable on an axis extending longitudinally of the vehicle body. The first pedal is connected to the transmission such that its depression shifts the transmission in a forward accelerating direction. The second pedal includes a linkage arm extending to a position under the first pedal. When the second pedal is depressed, the linkage arm lifts the first pedal, thereby shifting the transmission in a backward accelerating direction.

  • Patent number: 5012907
Abstract: A transmission comprises transmission shafts connected to right and left wheels, respectively. Each transmission shaft has a side clutch and a side brake. The side clutch includes clutch balls movable radially of the transmission shaft between a clutching position engaged with a first engagement portion of the transmission shaft and a declutching position radially retracted from the transmission shaft. The side brake includes brake balls movable radially of the transmission shaft between a braking position engaged with a second engagement portion of the transmission shaft and a releasing position radially retracted from the transmission shaft. A shifter sleeve is axially movably mounted on each transmission shafts. The shifter sleeve includes a first space for accommodating the clutch balls, a second space for accommodating the brake balls, and a projection for pressing the clutch balls and brake balls.

  • Patent number: 4982799
Abstract: A two-axle four-wheel tractor is equipped at its front and rear ends with working implements, individually, which are of the same type, opposite in working direction and shiftable between a working position and a nonworking position. The tractor has a steering system for steering the front and rear four wheels in the same direction through the same angle, a running transmission system for driving only the wheels positioned toward one of the working implements which is lifted to the nonworking position or, in a special case, a system for restraining the wheels positioned rearward with respect to the direction of advance of the tractor in a straight running position without permitting steering.

  • Patent number: 4719974
Abstract: A walking operator type cultivator comprising a rotary plow, a ground engaging member for setting a plowing depth, and a position adjusting mechanism for raising and lowering the ground engaging member. The position adjusting member is automatically controllable according to signals transmitted by an inclination sensor detecting fore and aft inclinations of the cultivator. The cultivator further comprises a mechanism for stopping the automatic control of the position adjusting mechanism which is necessary under certain operating conditions of the vehicle. As a trigger for this control stopper mechanism a plowing clutch, a propelling system clutch or the inclination sensor is used.

  • Patent number: 4692086
Abstract: A load handling vehicle having a load handling device disposed in front of the vehicle body and tiltable by a pair of opposite tilting cylinders. A main frame extends longitudinally of the vehicle and is fixed to each side of the vehicle body at a plurality of locations spaced apart longitudinally thereof. Each tilting cylinder extends longitudinally of the vehicle and is positioned above and close to the corresponding main frame in the vicinity of the front wheel fender inside thereof. The tilting cylinder is connected to a bracket on the main frame in the vicinity of and above the front axle and terminates at a position below the steering assembly of the vehicle. The arrangement of the cylinders permits the device to be positioned close to the vehicle body, enabling the driver to obtain a good forward view. The vehicle body is reinforced by the main frames against fracture.

  • Patent number: 4660668
Abstract: A self-propelled agricultural machine having a control section disposed laterally of a transmission case to control a drive transmission mechanism. A cover for a transmission device for transmitting engine output to the drive transmission mechanism is disposed laterally outwardly of the control section, and a fuel tank is disposed upwardly of the control section. Accordingly, the cover and the fuel tank protect the control section from contact by crop, shrubs and the like.
