A product reduction mechanism unit is provided to reduce a fuel oxidation product produced at the fuel electrode when power is generated by the fuel cell. Based on this, decline in energy density due to the fuel and the fuel oxidation product and by-product can be prevented, without having a mechanism to discharge the fuel and the fuel oxidation product and by-product to the outside of the fuel cell.
