  • Patent number: 6814122
Abstract: The present invention provides a radial tire forming apparatus capable of being applied to the formation of a carcass band having a large folding length. On a housing for a rollover device of the tire forming apparatus, a plurality of sets of straight rail bearers are fixed at appropriate places, so that a frame provided with rails is advanced toward or retreated from a second forming point on the carcass forming former side by a cylinder fixed to the housing. The diameter of a first rollover ring is slightly smaller than the diameter of a second rollover ring. When the rollover rings are brought closest to each other, the cylindrical portions of the rings enter and lap on each other.

  • Patent number: 5853525
Abstract: After a carcass band is elastically deformed temporarily into a standing wave shape, a bead core is located at a predetermined position on the outside of the carcass band. The elastic deformation of the carcass band is eliminated, and the carcass band is pressed against the inner peripheral surface of the bead core to form a first assembly. The first assembly is held by a first transfer from the outside, and an inner liner band of cylindrical shape with an outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the first assembly, is located at a predetermined position in the first assembly. The inner liner band is expanded and pressed against the inner peripheral surface of the first assembly to form a second assembly. Then, a third assembly composed of a sidewall, chafer and the like of cylindrical shape and having an outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the second assembly, is located at a predetermined position in the second assembly.

  • Patent number: 5690970
Abstract: In the present invention, when a tire is vulcanized, a flange fixed to either one of a top plate of a split mold and a piston rod tip end of a split mold opening/closing cylinder is held by operating fingers. The fingers are assembled in such a manner to be capable of oscillating in the holding direction by the return force of a spring. The top plate is connected to a piston rod of the split mold opening/closing cylinder. Thereupon, the split mold is opened and closed by the output of the split mold opening/closing cylinder and the vertical movement of a bolster plate. When the split mold is replaced, holding is released by oscillating the fingers by using a finger driving device, by which the top plate is separated from the piston rod of the split mold opening/closing cylinder.
