  • Patent number: 6224092
Abstract: An airbag device for side collisions is arranged in a back portion of a seat. The airbag device is equipped with an airbag which is mounted and fixed on its rear edge side on a seat frame. The airbag includes a lower chamber for an upstream portion of an inflating gas, and an upper chamber arranged over the lower chamber. The airbag is folded by folding the upper chamber side inwards to the lower chamber or towards the outside of a vehicle, and by bringing the front edge side toward the rear edge side. Moreover, the airbag is folded backwards or forwards at its upper side portion. The airbag in this state is mounted and fixed on the seat frame so that it is arranged in the back portion of the seat.

  • Patent number: 6062594
Abstract: An air bag for side collision is arranged substantially in the vertical direction between a vehicular inner wall and a passenger in an expanded state of the air bag. A lower side of the air bag is folded to be incorporated into the lower side in the expanded state. The lower side of the air bag in the expanded state is the upstream side of flow of expansion gas. The air bag has a narrowed gas flow port for regulating the flow of the expansion gas between the lower side and the upper side of the air bag in the expanded state so that the lower side can ensure sufficient inner pressure even when the passenger interferes with expansion of the lower side of the air bag during expansion, since the flow of the expansion gas is regulated by the gas communication port provided between the lower side and the upper side of the air bag. As a result, an inflator having small output can be used.

  • Patent number: 5961111
Abstract: The intermediate sheet feeding device for a duplex image forming apparatus includes: an intermediate tray; an sheet input conveyance path to the intermediate tray; a sheet output conveyance path from the intermediate tray; the sheet input conveyance path and the sheet output conveyance path being arranged to intersect each other at one end of the intermediate sheet tray; a conveying roller provided along the conveyance path from the image processing portion to the intermediate tray; and a conveyance controlling means which controls the conveying roller so as to convey the sheet at a speed lower than that when the sheet advances through the image processing portion and so that a short-sized sheet is conveyed slower than a long-sized sheet.

  • Patent number: 5829779
Abstract: A side protecting air bag comprising a body and an extension portion that are formed together into a bag shape. The body includes a mounting portion on the peripheral edge for mounting the air bag and is shaped to extend generally at a right angle from the mounting portion. The extension is formed so as to merge into the body along the mounting portion. When the air bag is folded, the extension is inserted into the body so that the body accommodating the extension is folded together with the extension onto the mounting portion.
