  • Patent number: 8587176
Abstract: A salient pole concentrated winding stator for an electric motor includes an annular stator core and a plurality of coils. The annular stator core includes a plurality of teeth. The plurality of coils are wound around the teeth such as to have different phases on the teeth adjacent in a circumferential direction. Each of the coils includes a first winding end and a second winding end, and at least one of the ends extends across the coil of a different phase. An end portion of the first winding end of one of the coils of the same phase that are adjacent in the circumferential direction is directly joined to an end portion of the second winding end of the other coil to form a joint portion without using an electric-power collection/distribution member. The joint portion is covered with an insulating material.
